^Yeah! That would be great.

Shiny Toy Guns are good, I liked them a lot last summer. They played a show here (I was in Montana, ughhh) and now all the whole scene here loves them too.

I finally got Chin Up Chin Up's "We Should Have Never Lived Like We Were Skyscrapers" and it is wonderful! Broadcast's "Tender Buttons" is decent too, but a little too heavy on electronics for me. I cannot wait for Final Fantasy's new album (in March?). The new stuff on their MySpace is really good. I had to clue he is in The Arcade Fire.

Thought I'd bump this!

Anyways, the concert fell out because of a ton of reasons that unluckily happened to converge at the last moment, but my mom promised me she will take us to the concert of our choice this summer, so I guess it evens out.

Album-wise, I've been listening to:
"He Poos Clouds" by Final Fantasy (just downloaded it; incredible!)
"Tender Buttons" by Broadcast (I fell in love after a couple of listens)
"The Comeback EP" by Stars (took me forever to find this; good stuff, as expected)
"Faking the Books" by Lali Puna (calming!)
"The Garden" by Zero 7 (only listened to it once, but it's great)
"Return to the Sea" by Islands (fun album)

Other bands worth checking out: You Say Party! We Say Die!, Stellastarr*, Cool Hand Luke, On!Air!Library!, The Brunettes, and The Fiery Furnaces (new album). Her Space Holiday also has a new song on his Myspace ("The Telescope), as well as a new side-project, and both are worth a listen.

British Sea Power, The Postal Service, Bright Eyes, Le Tigre, Interpol.
The Arcade Fire also catches my attention. :]

Anybody like Mando Diao?
Sorry if they've been mentioned already. xD

So "He Poos Clouds" is good? The two tracks I listened to didn't impress me nearly as much as "Has a Good Home." I liked that one, but I got a bit tired of it anyway.

I've read a good deal about the Islands, but don't think I've really given them a chance yet. I haven't listened to Stars' EPs either, though I know where to find them all (so if there's any you're missing, let me know). As far as Zero 7, I listened to that track with Jose Gonzalez a few times, but it was a little anticlimactic for me.

The only one of the bands you've listed I haven't heard is Cool Hand Luke, so I'll have to go look for them. I have to say, though, that "Bitter Tea" is definitely my favorite Fiery Furnaces' album (though EP was alright).

The albums I've downloaded most recently inclue The Essex Green, The Starlight Mints, The Raconteurs, Brendan Benson, Ben Folds' EPs (which I prefer to his LPs), PAS/CAL, Sondre Lerche, The Dandy Warhols, Rainer Maria, Maximo Park, Maritime, the new Snow Patrol and Zutons (because those are indie rolleyes.gif) and the Most Serene Republic. I have a good many other assorted songs as well, because I've had a slight dearth of ways to occupy the second half of my spring break.

The Shins
The Elected
The Decemberists
The Unicorns
Keane
Frou Frou
Kaiser Chefs
The Raveonettes
Dressy Bressy
The Bravery - How could I forget them wub.gif Do you guys consider them Indie?

There's alot more than that but I dont feel typing all of em yawn.gif

I wouldn't consider half of the people on your list indie; certainly not the Bravery, but that's ok.

I thought "He Poos Clouds" was really good. Most of the mp3's are online, but if you want me to link you to the whole album PM me. I've been looking for "A Lot of Little Lies for the Sake of One Big Truth" by Stars and I finally found it, only to find the uploader link broken pinch.gif. I was surprised with "Bitter Tea" because I've only listened to "EP" once and I didn't like it much. I listened to some PAS/CAL yesterday, I couldn't decide whether or not I liked them. It took me a little bit to get into The Most Serene Republic, but I love them now. I've been listening to a lot of Imogen Heap also (possibily not indie?) and she's extraordinary, especially in the live videos I've seen.

Rediscover is nice. They remind me a bit of Hellogoodbye. Architecture in Helsinki is good, too.

I found "A Lot of Little Lies for the Sake of One Big Truth" and while I haven't actually downloaded it, it seems be working. I'll PM it to you. I think I can get most, if not all of "He Poos Clouds," too. I just listened to "Arctic Circle" and liked it pretty well. I didn't listen to EP until aftre I listened to "Bitter Tea" and it wasn't nearly as good- I didn't bother to put it on my ipod- but it was still much more tolerable than "Blueberry Boat" or the travesty that is "Reheasing My Choir" (I did try to appreciate it, but I just couldn't stand it). PAS/CAL isn't great, but I like them more with each listen. After hearing "I Found a Reason" in "V for Vendetta," I wound up seeking more Cat Power, and am really enjoying "You Are Free," which I prefer to "The greatest."

Tom Vek's vocals sound a lot like that of a local musician named Jeremy Williams here...it's weird.

Jeremy Williams is a bit of a celebrity here, though he's really rude in person. His songs are cute, though.

Can't say I've heard of this Jeremy Williams, but I'm not particularly fond of Tom Vek.

I love Sondre Lerche, even if his new album is basically really cheesy jass. Still.

Ohhh, I like this thread.

I haven't heard anything from Shiny Toy Guns, just a bunch of scene kids going crazy over them... so, I'm not sure if they're any good. Maybe I'll listen to them.

Willy Mason is a huge obsession of mine at the moment, along with Neko Case, Film School, Editors, Soft, The Moldy Peaches... Good stuff good stuff.

Maybe we should start a new topic in debate on it. I was most disappointed to find comments stopped there too; I was interested.

God, I came back from vacation hoping to download some more albums and THAT came up. First RLG, then them, then Child Star. But I also found the comments interesting nonetheless.

Tilly and the Wall's new album leaked! Now if only SoulSeek wasn't sucking right now... pinch.gif.

Did you get the Stars album I sent you?

I've grabbed a few of the new Tilly and the Wall tracks, and I think I like it better that Wild Like Children.

The newest enstallment of RLG can be found at http://winterdenim.blogspot.com, by the way.
it's absolutely insane. Glass Danse (I wasn't at the original) -> RedLightGlow -> Glass Danse again -> Warehouse Groove -> winter denim. wacko.gif (Of course, being that winter denim just opened, there's not a whole lot of interest right now, but I assume it'll grow if it actually lasts)
