Doing drugs does not make you incapable of functioning in normally in society. In fact our president was an avid drug user during his college years. I think drugs are only dangerous to those who shouldn't be taking them in the first place. If you are a strong minded person using drugs for pleasure/recreational uses the worst thing that can happen is the loss of a few brain cells. Smoking pot is actually very harmless to you. Yes, prolonged use can damage your lungs and potentially memory, but that is a result of YEARS of use, or extreme use in a short period of time.

No he's not, in fact I hate Bush like a lot of others, but it proves my point that even if you use drugs you can still become a prominent member of society so people should stop condemning others.

Drugs have been considered illigal in this country for one reason...the government can't prosper form it....it's the only reason....the sole reason....if the US Gov. could make profit from it..they'd be selling coke/weed/acid/ecstasy..to every person over the age of 18...so all you people who say it's bad "stop being a sheep and think for yourself" and blow it up your a$$ if you think there illigalizing it for good intensions.

It's grossly unfair for characterizing all non-drug users as "sheep". There are more good reasons for not using drugs than there are good reasons for using them.

nah thats not true, the gov't can tax anything they want. so even if they weren't making profit directly from the product itself, they could still tax the amounts that were sold in shops and/or brought into our country. Cocaine and ecstasy being legal is pretty ridiculous knowing the high risk of danger with those drugs, but weed is another story. I believe weed has been stigmatized for so long in our country that ppl in the gov't just naturally assumed it was bad. Anti-marijuana campaigns were started back in the early 1900s though as propaganda against colored ppl b/c it was in their culture, not just blacks but mexicans and other native americans. It was something so closely related w/ their culture that America didn't want it in theirs, but now ppl are realizing marijuana is really quite harmless and within the next decade I think we will see strides in legalization

And good point - can we just get back to the topic at hand, which was "Does Anyone Do Drugs?" We do have a debate (I had to search for it though) regarding the legalization of drugs. Drugs legalized?

well when I hear ppl say stupid things like what you said it urks me and I wanted to respond. Yeah, you're right you can't tax what's being shoved up a mule's ass, but if it was legal not all drugs would be smuggled. Sure, there would be some still being smuggled but are you trying to tell me that the most powerful gov't on earth couldn't tax a legal product? haha you have much to learn.

OMG this kid has helped city council members win elections so now he thinks he's the man!!!hahahahahaha, I don't mean to insult your acheivements, but those things are really quite insignificant when discussing federal matters. I'm well aware of that pervert's situation but he is not bush's right hand man, and that right there proves you are a little un-informed of politics. I agree - Gov't is damaged, but do you think the number one world-power could be maintained by a bunch of senseless boobs. Don't sleep on the power of our gov't....

You're trying to tell me that, as a waiter at a restaurant, you have gone out with Senators, and gotten the inside scoop on legislation?

I am proud to say I have never done drugs. I don't think I will, either.

IT'S PRETTY PATHETIC TO KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE NEED DRUGS TO HAVE A GOOD TIME,
because you don't.

Yes. I'm swalling a pill right now.
And I'm staring at my cocaine.

I'm kiddin'. Drugs are goddamned stupid, people are pretty low and unself-confident to have to do drugs to make them feel better. They need to feel better for themselves.

I don't think smoking pot once in a while is that terrible. People who feel the need to get high everyday annoy me as do people who do hardxcore drugs.
