I just heard that London will host the Olympics in 2012.

I think that this is fantastic and should inspire a generation. My 18yo daughter agrees with me and thinks that London is just the greatest city for such an event and that this will finally help to counter the 'obesity' disease that every single Western country is suffering from.

So get off your butts and go play some sport. Work that ass baby!

What do you lot think?

^ Man, I love belgium, I reckon I might pop over this summer and see the sights. I'm so going to see all of the olympic events though.
edit/ you knows it James. I might just hang out the St. Georges flag I was given at my first communion, right next to my USSR one, heh heh.

Well I guess you are quite near England, that would explain the weather... I'm going up to Edinburgh this weekend and the temperature is 18 degrees with showers. They're calling it a heat wave.

I was excited, but I was really disappointed about France. Oh, well. The Olympics are always awesome.

^ haha That's the usual consensus around these parts.

But, I'm actually glad that London has it for 2012. I'm already excited! Congratulations to the British! And good riddance to the French. I really didn't want the Olympics to be held there anyways. mellow.gif

Well, I would've preferred if NYC won, because then I would definitely go. But it's cool that London got it, congrats to them. I'll probably go to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing though.
