Okay, so I am dating this guy and he is in college. I never thought I would end up dating a college guy. He is like one of my best friends though. I am his first girlfriend and he is my first boyfriend. The thing is he is also my older sister's friend. I want to quit lying to my parents and friends except i dont want my sister to find out. I just know if she finds out, im dead. She keeps saying i steal her friends. Just don't know how to handle this situation.

its up to you. if you love him and he loves you, your sister will probably understand. Tell her that you really like the guy. If your parents dont like him you should talk to them about it...yeah.

How old are you and how old is he?
Well, I think you should first sit down with your sister and tell her how much you love her. Then, tell her that you've been spending a lot of time with him and that you don't want her to freak out, but that you've been going out with him (or you can tell her that you really like him and would want to go out with him, but that might cause complications.). Then, tell her that you care about what she thinks, but you really care for this guy, and you want it to work out between the two of you. And also let her know that you aren't trying to steal her friends. And then see where it goes from there.

You can't have it all. You can't just tell your parents and friends yet keep your sister in the dark.

I think you should just be truthful with everyone besides your parents just yet. You sister will probably find out sooner or later. It's better if you tell her then someone else who sees you and him together. You're not even 16 yet and this guy has to be at least 18 or so. Parents will be overprotective as they always are to daughters.

Just tell your sister first and then your friends. Tell her that he started out as your best friend, it's not like you went through her address book and was like, "hmm, who should I pick to be my boyfriend?" If you successfully tell your sister, maybe the both of you can convince your parents that your boyfriend is a good guy.

Okay.. What? First of all, there's no such thing as "stealing" friends. you don't intentionally TAKE them from her, i'm sure. and, it's not your fault if you're more interesting than she is, or for whatever reason her friends tend to hang out with you. Second of all, you should be truthful to your family. if your sister gets mad, tough. it's your boyfriend and your decision. she can't change it.

good luck with everything. biggrin.gif

I think you're paranoid about the parents. But the sister is a problem. You have to proove to her (along with your guy) that they're still going to be friends despite your relationship with him. As for the parents, you can talk to them. If they don't like the guy, oh well they'll have to deal with it.

sounds like if u dont want to piss your sister off u would have to break up w/ the dude cuz no matter wat happens if your sister finds out you guys are dating shes gonna be pissed from the sounds of it....

it all just depends on if u think its worth pissing your sister off for a short period of time to keep seein this guy. if u really dont want to piss her off maybe this relationship isnt worth it

you still havent answered how old are you and how old he is.. but if your parents are telling you to get married, you must be atleast a senior at high school i'm assuming?

If you like/love the guy and think the relationship will carry on, she will have to find out eventually. It's hard to hide a relationship from everyone.

Check her profile. It says she's 15. And this guy is at least 18. You can't have a real relationship unless your parents are involved. The longer you keep it a secret, the more upset your parents will be when they find out ("YOU'VE BEEN DATING THIS GUY HOW LONG!? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US!?"). I suggest you tell your parents about him now (and ask them to keep it confidential from your sister) and if they don't approve, just stay friends with the guy.

You're only 15. You shouldn't have to deal with the drama of holding a secret. If you're having to hide a relationship from your parents, maybe it's a sign that you're starting a bit too early.

my boyfriend is 19 and i turn 16 this summer.
it's not to big of a deal, my parents even know it.
i know i'm young but i love him.
your sister shouldn't care.
she should be happy she brought you together.
no more lying.
it's not worth it.
but when you do tell them tell them also how you feel and what you have and haven't done and wont do.
just remember that you are 15 and need to make relationship choices like a 15 year old and not a whatever year old.
he has to accomidate that age limit and relationship limit.
if he can't, drop him.
but no more lies.
