What I don't get is why very young people (13-17) cry and cry and cry and cry after they got dumped.......I mean sure, the one you thought "loved" you actually didn't, but where did you expect that relationship to go? Especially your first break-up with anybody. Did they really think that the relationship was going to last forever? I mean..come on!! I don't know, just something to maybe discuss about.

I think it's natural to cry after a breakup. Young people (myself included) are, I think, very idealistic.. a dumping or a breakup is a hard smack in the face of reality. Your first relationship is always a bit special, in any case. I cried after my first breakup not so much out of disappointment for the future (no, I did not expect that we would get married, etc) but out of regret that it was over.. does that make sense? I think that if someone matters (or even mattered) to you, its perfectly fine to feel regret and even pain that the relationship is over. And I think that anyone would cry after they get dumped, the fact that your love isn't reciprocated seems like a good enough reason to me =/

crying doesnt necessarily mean the person hoped for marriage. its just that the person that he or she loved did not really love them.--thats kinda sad.

I agree about how pointless it is to cry about break-ups, but you gotta understand. You once thought you loved the person. How would you feel after so much hope and caring you finally found out you'll never have the same feelings? It sounds simple but after my...thing... I really got depressed about it.

that doesn't always mean that the person thought they'd last forever.
don't you have that certain emotional attachment to a guy when you're in a relationship with him? |

I totally agree. You shouldn't cry because it ended. You should smile 'cause it happened. ![]() exactly my point. And to sarcastic, yeah. But after a break-up I get a little dissapointment, and then I suck it up and think, "Well, at least I'm able to be liked by somebody. I can't wait for the next!!" |

I don't think age is really anything to make a big deal about. I'm thirteen, I'm in love, and anyone who questions that gets a nice little poke in their gut. Seriously, who wouldn't feel any sort of pain? (a hoe) =] Well, the whole subject about young relationships is getting old. Way old. We're in a new generation where everyone is looking for the one already. Just flow.

I cried my eyes out when I broke up with my first boyfriend, my third and during my fourth relationship because I put a lot of emotion in my relationships. I don't d*ck around when I'm seeing someone, I take dating quite seriously.
I put a lot of love in those relationships and when they ended (all on bad terms) I cried because it was my way of letting those feelings go. The tears like symbolized how much I loved them. I just let it all flow out and then threw it away. |

People cry about a lot of things that aren't going to last forever. I cry when I finish a cake, even though when I baked the cake, I knew damn well it would be gone eventually.

mm well although i agree with what Mikestah said about "smiling because it happened", i must admit that there's a part of you that would cry about it because it was probably a really happy time in your life and you probably regret that it's over. and maybe sometimes, you would feel like that person let you down cuhz you put in a lot of love into the relationship? ionosz.. that's how i felt when my ex and i broke up *tear* -__-

But yeah it's natural to cry over something bad that's happened. Yeah, you are happy it happened but still, its sad when it ends even if you know it's going to end. |

it doesn't matter how old you are, when you lose something dear to you, you cry.
little kids cry when their toys break. would you ever say to a kid " suck it up, at least you had a toy!"...? if a mother lost her son and cried, would you say to her "suck it up, at least you HAD a son!"?? no. exactly teenagers cry over ex bf/gf's if they really put effort and care and emotion into the relationship. Its perfectly natural and something that MUST be experienced at some point in their lives. Because the first time is always the hardest to get over ( well, atleast i think it is). a person who's lived their life without ever feeling a great loss, would be...pretty odd, and i would personally considor it being unhealthy. |

I think it's okay to cry because they cared a lot for whoever they lost. It's like losing a friend. If you lost your bestfriend, would you cry? Or would you just sit there and think: Ah well, at least someone wanted to be my friend, i cant wait for the next!! |
