So my website has been up for around 2 months, and I've gotten comments that it's too light and hard to read. So I readjusted the colors/images -- just a few benefits of the darker one:
  • I took the photo, so I can use it on Cafe Express without worrying about copyrights and all that.
  • I think it's got more contrast, so that makes it easier to read.
  • This set of colors works better with link hovering, etc. (I prefer it over the green, in terms of making hover-changes better).
Anyway, I need some suggestions to decide which to use -- so I came to you guys.
Current set of colors (a lighter green) here
New "testing" colors (black and gray) here

Well, if no one else would like to add their opinion, I think I'll go with the darker one.

I think the black is nice. But I don't really see what's wrong with the green - its easy enough to read on my computer ((I use Internet Explorer))

Green! Hm, I don't like the bright background, though.

biggrin.gif If anyone's noticed, you can now choose which one you want to use, as of a few days ago. I decided to include the old one as well, because I was too lazy to get rid of it (??)... plus, you can "choose your mood".

How's the overall experience when you visit with IE?

I haven't finished updating all the page yet -- but don't worry, soon the links will match their themes (you'll find out what I mean by reading the first post on the website).

I've started working with Macromedia's Dreamweaver 8, because I'm only good at editing templates, but not creating a whole page by myself. It promised to create XTML/CSS/etc for me, with no coding work on my part (if you want to know more, they tell you a lot on the Macromedia site). However, I still have problems with that... because I'm kinda brand new to webpage designing. Does anyone use Dreamweaver 8? Want to teach me how?

I use dreamweaver mx is that 8? Its not really that hard but I don't know much I use it for basic coding and sometimes aligning divs. See I don't know everything myself so I have to know what you want to know how to do. There are good tutorials around too.

Dreamweaver 8 is a bit newer than that. You're supposed to be able to create whole web pages -- but that won't work if I don't even know where to begin. I have a design for a website drawn on paper, if it would help to upload it.
