Like someone has mentioned before, if you think that censorship 'sucks' then speak out to the government, make protests... etc... to have it changed...

But then again, people like me, who wants it to stay the same, will speak out as well.

i think the government wantsto hide alittle to much, i mean were eventualy going to get exposed to nudity, fowl language, violence, gore and such. of course there should be a limit, i mean alot of the youngerin age kids are very imature because they havnt been exposed to any of that kind of stuff so when they are they have to make a big deal out of it, the more things shown the more mature people will get because they are used to it.

I don't want innocent children to mature too quickly now.

Then again, watching nudity, vulgarity doesn't make a child mature, it makes him/her curious enough to try these things out sometimes. stubborn.gif

The government doesn't force walmart to not carry stickered CDs, that's walmart's choice. As for the rest....too many catholics in high positions?

i think so. i think that athiest should have those positions because then they arent biased. [like bush and all those others.]

Who says athiests aren't biased? They could be biased against those who do have a religion.

I dont know about this topic.. I mean.. yes, some things deserve to be hidden.. but censorship can easily become abused... i mean, consider Nazi Germany, the majority of the ppl knew nothing of Hitler's political actions, nor the Holocaust until Allied media made them aware, but then censorship of say violence or nudity for little kids, that wouldnt be so bad

So I guess my argument is that censorship's alright if we dont have an overly strict hold on it

I don't feel all too strongly on the topic of censorship because some things on tv shouldn't be seen. I have to look at it from a parent's prospective: if I was a mother or father, would I want my 4 year old kid to see and hear these things?

of couse some things should be blocked, expecially from immature children that would more likely than not take what they learned from the television and do somthing incredibly idiotic.

i dont think censorship is not that horrible now-a-days because once your able to see south park, crank yankers, etc... on television, i think that we are doing good. becides, they only show the some what bad stuff on t.v. late at night, so i think we are going okay so far.

I think that censorship on TV is good enough. But censorship in songs. .it kills the song. Curses shouldnt really be bleeped out because it's a normal thing in our society nowadays.

The government can only limit our free speech if it presents a "clear and present" danger to society...

I think they have something like you only get to hear the part of the news that the government wants us to hear.

I so agree

I think that when it comes to games/cd's/dvd's they should be allowed to make it as explicit as they want, its up to the consumer if they want it or not, and now a days kids are exposed to so much sex and violence that nothing is truly censored, as for songs it kills the song, as for games, some games suck without violence, gta was a hit! I think America needs to be a little more open with games and music, besides that we are fine....

I hate it when they censor things in a song. I mean literally all you can hear is: Life is full of *beep* and it gets me so *beep* *beep* and the whole song i ruined just cause of that. Maybe they should put a warning before they play the sdng "this song may not be suitable for children under 13."
