Well, I just got my hair colored this morning.

I had originally had light brown hair with golden highlights, but I wanted something new. So my stylist toned down all of my hair to a darker brown and gave me red highlights. However, the color is too red and looks too fake. At first, I didn't think so, but my mom kept telling me that it does. Now, the more I look in the mirror, the more I agree.

I feel really bad having to go back to the salon to ask for it to be toned down, not to mention that it might be a little while before she can fit me into her schedule. The color is only demi-permanent. Is there anything I can do to tone it down? I heard something about dish detergent helping, but I don't know.

Any tips?

hmm..maybe you could go back to the salon and ask for it to be toned down like you said. i know you also said you felt bad but its the stylists job to give you what you want. im not sure theyll give it to you for free but im sure the cost will be cut down more. talk to the person that did your hair and see what they say.
