I didn't really know what genres these bands would fit in, but I guess it would be punk. Is anyone a fan of the Descendents, Propagandhi, or Leftover Crack?

I didn't really know what genres these bands would fit in, but I guess it would be punk. Is anyone a fan of the Descendents, Propagandhi, or Leftover Crack? I am a fan of all three of those bands. Leftover Crack being my favorite of the three, and Propagandhi my least favorite. Leftover Crack is "Crack Rock Steady." A healthy mix of Ska, Afro Ska, Crust Punk, Death Metal, Hardcore, and Crust Punk. Mostly Ska & Punk. If you like them, take a look at their roots. Most of the members previously operated in the band Cocking Victim. Although their recording quality in Leftover Crack is far superior, I prefer most of the Choking Victim tracks over Leftover Crack tunes. The Descendents have been greatly influential to alot of early 90's punk bands. They played in the hardcore scene for quite some time, and had a less melodic sound as they did in their latter years. They are Punk Rock, Hardcore, or even Pop Punk. I like more of their melodic stuff, and I can't stand their reformed band "ALL". Victory records. Ew. Propaganghi is "progressive" Punk. They have alot of metal and ska influence. For me, Propagandhi is at their best with strong ska influence (i.e. "f**k Religion) but I still like some of their more metal and punk rock sounding tunes (i.e. "Stick The f**king Flag up Your f**king Ass You Stupid Son of a Bitch") |

I never liked any ska until I listened to Leftover Crack and Propagandi. I listened the Choking Victim work previously, but it just didn't catch me enough. I own Mediocre Generica and I'm addicted to "The Good, The Bad, The Leftover Crack". I'm ordered "F**ck World Trade" and it should be coming soon. After weeks of trying to find it in stores, I decided to just order it.
Descendents are my favorite pop-punk band. I like ALL, but they're not as good without Milo. 'Merican's probably my favorite song. It's straightfoward without trying to hard. I like really like Propagandhi instrument wise. They play ska music, yet they have a song called "Ska Sucks". Nevertheless, they rock. I like their earlier stuff (How to Clean Everything) rather then the newer stuff (Potemkin City Limits). My favorite song of theirs is probably "Showdown" or "Stick the F**cking Flag Up..." |

I listened the Choking Victim work previously, but it just didn't catch me enough. All I have to say is: Choking Victim's No Gods, No Managers. Listen to the track, Crack Rock Steady. Descendents are my favorite pop-punk band. I like ALL, but they're not as good without Milo. 'Merican's probably my favorite song. It's straightfoward without trying to hard. When it comes to the Descendents, I tend to enjoy the more melodic and sweet or silly songs. Cynical aren't too bad either. For me, it's Good Good Things, Silly Girl, I'm the One, and Bikeage. "Running out of breath again you're an Old maid, but you're only 15 You're losing your little girl's charm Cry all night but you'll never get it back Don't be afraid, it's not too late Save yourself, I need you here Wearing off, wearing out I can't think about this cause it makes me sick" Ah, thank you. You're making me revisit The Descendents. It feels good, heh heh. |

I'll try listening to Crack Rock Steady. Maybe, I'll get into Choking Victim. Thanks for the recommendation.
I like the silly Descendents songs too. "Everything Sucks" and "Cool To Be You" are great albums. I'm glad you revisiting Descendents. Everyone should. ![]() |
