New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly recently warned Busta Rhymes to come forward regarding the killing of his bodyguard or face the consequences.

"Come in and tell us everything you know about this homicide," Kelly told the New York Post. " It's as simple as that."

Kelly added that Busta could be forced to appear before a grand jury regarding the murder if he doesn't cooperate soon. "We are exploring with the district attorney the possibility of an investigative grand jury."

Witnesses are usually subpoenaed by an investigative jury when they are uncertain about talking to authorities. Busta's bodyguard, Israel Ramirez was gunned down outside of Brooklyn's Kiss the Cactus Production studio on February 5.

Authorities believe Busta was standing by Ramirez when he was shot. Reports say the shooting was sparked by a heated argument between Swizz Beatz and G-Unit's Tony Yayo. Yayo is believed to have left with the shooter. Busta has been contacted through his lawyer, but has refused to talk to cops since the incident took place. Yayo has also remained tight-lipped about the shooting.

"We believe [Busta Rhymes] was present at the scene, and we want to know everything he knows about this homicide," Kelly told the Post. "It is not that difficult to figure out someone who worked for you is murdered in front of you."

Kelly added, "Quite frankly, I find it quite disturbing. This individual was shot in front of a lot of people, in essence after a pushing match. There are several witnesses. We have found lack of cooperation from those who were there."

According to Kelly, authorities still have to review footage from the video shoot. Any additional footage that may help identify Ramirez's shooter will be subpoenaed. Kelly is slated to meet with Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes next week.

"It's really up to the police commissioner. An investigative grand jury works when there are a lot of people who are not cooperating," a law enforcement source told the Post.

The DA's office wouldn't comment.

His street cred is through the roof right now, but he needs to do the right thing to bring his bodyguard/friend's killer to justice. _unsure.gif
