So, I had to quit working on my vexel ( cry.gif ) to make a valentines day card for my grandparents. This year is their 50th anniv. blink.gif and so, I wanted it to look simple but elegant.

I like to think of those heart things kinda like flowers.

But yeah, like?

It's okay. I don't really see the purpose of the swirlie lines though, aside from making it less empty. The quote doesn't match the image for me, since well o.O iono. Air? Ground? lol. I like how you convey them as flowers though.

Pollen? Love? I don't really connect the two unless if you mean the birds and the bees kind of thing.

I take it you haven't taken an english class that is completely focused about symbology?

It's just a symbol.

Not really. We don't focus entirely on symbols in our entire course. Pray tell, explain then how it symbols it.

And I take it you can't take criticism well? wink.gif

It's not that I can't take criticism well, it's just hard to accept criticism from someone who all i've heard is dish out talk, but hasn't actually presented any art herself. That's all, nothing personal.

I don't feel compelled to present my work here in the digital art subforum. Is it a rule that I must do so in order to comment? I think not. Anyways, I did submit before, but just in the layouts section months ago, and myspace section recently, though I haven't made much graphics lately since I lost my programs.

I understand how you find it hard to accept my words, since I too used to feel the same way for those who just slap brushes on and create tacky works. But anyways, as time went along, at least in my experience, I've encountered individuals who can notice all the details, the finer points and the weak points of a layout but can hardly do much graphics wise. It's not my position to advise you, but as a fellow graphic maker, I take it you'd like to do your best and further improve your work sooo I suggest being more open about taking in criticism from different types of people.

And hey? What about that description? That could have helped me understand it more.

It very pretty. Regardless of any deeper meaning in the art, it's just aesthetically pleasing. Good job.
