Yeah, I like Steven idea of a Misc area for books and stuff. We dont want too many subforums under Entertainment.

There have been a lot of people wanting a book forum.
*

there would simply not be enough posts to sustain an active books forum. just look at the failed cars and health and sports and school forum. a books forum would end up like the anime forum - a few people posting all the time, but still not active

i mean, right now, half the posts in entertainment are about music and musicians , and the other are about movies and actors.

i just dont see many threads about books..

Actually, there's been a lot more activity in the anime forum. In fact, there is an extreme closeness for a lot of the people that post in there. If that forum were to be merged, we'd be sad otakus sad.gif

^I SECOND THAT!!!

Wow, alot to read through...

(1) I don't like the age division thing. I feel labeled enough as it is at home/school. I don't need that on CB.

(2) I agree that there are so many sub-forums. I'm not sure about dividing up the entertainment section. As for the Interests section, I agree about Cars + Sports being put together. I think Fashion and Technology would get messy in the Lounge. I like having some sub-forums under interests. Maybe we could cut 1 or 2. But i've always liked Lounge being a whole, and Entertainment being a whole. It's my favorite forum, if it was divided up it would be a shame. Although I do see the good points about dividing it up...but that's just my opinion. So yep :)

"the coffeeshop- a place to discuss books, school, or current events."

school, books, debate, and current events would go there.

although i would be rather saddened by the loss of the debate forum.

i think debate deserves an independant forum because debate is the biggest "interest" forum there and is still more active than either locker

alright, im going to use my special executive powers to make some changes. like, right now. i remember there was a time in cb history changes were made shiftly. seems like it doesnt happen often anymore.

today its more like ... deliberation, deliberation, deliberation until the topic fades into everyone's memories. so, in the spirit of the old cb, when cb was still new, i shall remove the following subforums in interests:

-current events
-health
-sports

and move them to the louge. this way we can have a more active lounge again! weeee!

Even though I haven't been for as a long time and most of the people posting here today I believe that anime is actually doing a lot better than it was.. When I left and came back anime didn't even have close to as 383 topics and like 9,000 replies... Its slowly building up.. Its just that sometimes things interest people more than other stuff...

There are a lot of people who search through anime and stuff and a lot of people who actually come here just for it... I know createblog is a blog community but there has to be some other things than that to keep the people sane.

nay about health, i think just rename that "the XY factor", and dump it in relationships.

current events, i think we should hold off and see if we want to do something with that+school+books.

debate could be a subforum of "the coffeeshop"

JUSUN
I like that idea!
Current events back in Lounge, yes
Sports in Lounge, yes.

HEALTH. Could we possibly have the "girl health" topics in girls locker, and "Boy health" topics in boys locker room.
Mods could just move them in the locker rooms?

i think sports should be in entertainment... sports are played on TV.. and are entertaining

i dont carfe whether the coffeeshop idea gets installed but no subforums! that is just moving subforums into another category

Health doesnt necessarily relate to relationships most of the time.

Also, I think this "coffeeshop" idea still sounds nice.

I like this re-organization idea better.

Edit: Hmm...what Kiera said is true. And you can't easily distinguish the relationship related Health topics from the health health topics unless you go into the forum and move them one by one which could get tedious. But the rest of the idea I like.

i have three yea, and one nay.

i dont like the coffe shop idea. that's similar to the lounge in principle. just putting meaning into a condensed forum.

anyway. for now, ill remove the three forums above. and maybe we ought to check out other big forums and see how they are organized. that will be our task. and i'll bring this up again once cb3 is launched and ... well, we'll do a total revamp of the forums, if there's a better way to organize them. =)

Maybe we should turn this into a poll-style topic? That way we can get more organized answers and opinions?

I would love you if the anime forum was able to stay just where it is =P. Because it is a interest that some people have.. Even a obsession you might even call it =P
