I think Facebook is 1 million times better than Myspace.

It's very clean. I like it. And it kinda restricts stalkers...I've had to work around that to profile people  rolleyes.gif

Yeah. No creepy middle-aged men asking you for nude pictures. Thank God.

It would be sort of like the drama scene. Justin built that from scratch, it's quite awesome.

I don't think a Facebook interface would work on cB other than eye candy.

But I agree it'd be awesome. But I think the gains aren't as astounding as the work.

This community is great when things are going smoothly (socially). But when it's not, you see the ugly come out of people.

The networking idea will get members to meet new members. And as this happens, it broadens each individual's social circle. Facebook being my prime example still.

I've met people on here that would make lifelong friends (and then some). I think everyone should have a shot at that.

QUOTE(BrandonSaunders @ Feb 10 2006, 12:03 AM)
I'd like to see mods accept responsibility for their actions. The site is running well, and they all are doing a pretty decent job with catering to the needs of the community, however, the morale of this entire community reminds me of high school. For them to be respected the way moderators should be, and for community to be a place where everyone generally gets along with one another, the personal bullshit needs to come to an end. Be professional.

This site keeps growing and growing and growing. With topics becoming more and more diverse, its understandable that people will feel as though they all need a proper place. That's fine. But I understand that running a forum costs money and using more space costs money. Then again, I like the random, off the wall, conversation topics that used to take up The Lounge.

However, if more subforums are going to be created, then 'Entertainment' needs work. Movies/Music/Books/Misc

I really feel that the newspaper should be given another shot. There are some really outspoken members in this community that can contribute by writing in depth, interesting and thought provoking articles to inform and entertain the entire community. Its great discussing a given event, and its fun talking about last night's sports game, but wouldn't it be better if there was a livlier recap of it all?

"Man, the game last night was ill. Kobe had like, 80 somethin' points."
How about a game summary and analysis?

Skins. The babyblue and white is pretty bland.

All for now.

thank you for such a thoughful response. the majority of the people here are either in middle or high school, and such, i think its appropriate that the site has a highschool feel. but i do understand where youre coming from. some of the older createblog members may find them themselves unable to associate with the site because of this very reason. maybe we ought to organize the forum by age group, rather than by general topics like we have currently. or add a new catagory with a middle school / high school / college peeps / working peeps forum.

in any case, i agree with you that the forum needs work in a lot of aspects. but i like to think its just the growing pains of cb. in time, everything will be ironed out. i promise you!

oh- idea!

people are moving to independent blogs and such because they give more flexibility of design and stuff.

but they do lose the community, the blogrings, the charts.

what is cB could do this? create a community for blogs, where you could have a community with your new independent blog?

of course, allow regular xanga, etc. blogs to join in on these "cb blogrings"

and it would be nice if you could subscribe to blogs in many comunities.

so you could read bloggers, xangas, myspaces, etc. all from one subscription page.

I know a forum that has that and it's great. The first time I saw it I remember wishing cB would do something similar.

Does that first idea go for createBlog as a whole? If so, I'm not sure it's a good idea. I think it might cause some "division," you know?

mm yes...

so don't include website 'rankings', include 'top picks'

basically, if it were possible to have rankings, don't post them, but have someone go through them and pick out the ones they like.

so you could have something like "micron's picks" or something.

so, jockying for more views won't get you anywhere if your posts are crap anyways.

so look

i know a couple of people here post on this forum called niketalk (sup wayne, jonn, stephanie, angela).. it got about the same number of people as CB, but it looks much more active. why? because it only got three forums in its "community center".. General, Sports/Training, and Music..

this site niketalk, has a competitor called ISS. ISS got about 1/5th of the active participants niketalk has. why? because ISS got like a million forums. theres one called the "poll forum", one called the "flamethrower forum (where you post jokes), etc

createblog is turning into ISS.. as i said before we need to get rid of most of those forums in interests.. only forums i think are necesary in interests are Debate, Writing, Fashion, Sports, Technology.. everything else is just excessive

CREATEBLOG NEEDS TO GO ON THE LINDSEY LOHAN DIET. lets lose some forums!
