Do your homework or I'll drop you off in the middle of a tundra. That's your motivation. Go for it!

screwing up early makes a world of trouble for you later.
make some goals like honor roll or nhs. if that dosn't work, reward urelf for certain accomplishmets. do ur work right after school so u have the rest of the day to do whatever hope i helped |

I was going to point out that girlfriends complicate things and distract you from your work, but it appears you already know that.
My threat about the tundra still stands. |

Have your teachers write the homework assignments you are supposed to complete every day on a piece of paper by period. Take it home, do the work, have your parents sign it and turn it in to your teacher or guidance counselor the next day. If it's not signed by your parents, someone will be able to see you're slacking right away. It's harsh, but it works.

drink A LOT of coffee. that'll keep you alert so you'll do your hw.
coffee always works for me. but that's just `cause i'm addicted to it. whenever i'm not focusing, i just think to myself, "if you do your homework, you get coffee." and then i just automatically do my hw. |

I started high school this year too. It sucks. I have no motivation either, but that's because when I finish working, or if I get A's, my parents are ignorant and are just like, well that's what you should be getting, and start giving me SAT work. It's really annoying =x
My friend motivates himself by telling himself that when he finishes work, he can play a computer game or something. He just buckles down and then when hes done does whatever he wants. If you can do that, that'll work. |

in the past when i don't do well in school my dad takes away my internet, computer, phone, stuff like that.
so i jsut do well by thinking i want those stuff not to be taken away from me, and that I want to get into a good college and have a good GPA so that keeps me motivated |

I think about what my dreams are for the future (moving to cali, going to SDU and becoming a pharmacist) and how they won't come true if I don't keep up with my studies. I mean, who'd want to jepordize their bright future??

Motivation...hmmm..
Just think of where you could be if you ruined your opportunities with bad grades... *cough* "Would you like fries with that?"*cough* *Falls down a spiraling tunnel*..."Nooooo..." Is that motivation enough? |

If you don't do good in school, I will find out where you live, and drop kick you in the face.
Hows that? Oh yeah, remember, at college, you can get away from parents. Unless yo go to a crappy community college. Then I will dropkick you again. |

This might seem bad but compare youself to your friends.
Just about all of my friends get A+'s and when I compare myself to them it makes me want to be just as good as them. (or better ![]() |

well, i dont get contacts unless my grades are good which really bothers the crap out of me because ive managed to have a's and b's for 2 years and my dad still refuses to get them.
go for something. like, a car. im sure your parents arent going to trust you with a car with c's d's and f's. not to mention, college. do you really want to work at mcdonnalds for the rest of your life? if you dont get accepted into a college, then your life is basically over. |

here this is foolproof
set a goal for yoruself like a 4.0 and then give 200 dollars to a close friend. if you reach the goal take the money back from him. if you dont, he gest to keep the money. make sure the friend will actually keep the money. this works for everything, not just school peace |

QUOTE(Crich323 @ Feb 8 2006, 1:23 PM) This might seem bad but compare youself to your friends. Just about all of my friends get A+'s and when I compare myself to them it makes me want to be just as good as them. (or better ![]() What if your friends are all stupid? ![]() I don't really know how to help you since I'm capable of motivating myself, but yeah. Don't make huge goals. Even something like "I'm going to get straight A's this term/semester" is too much. Keep it small, something like "I'm going to get my Socials questions done by 8:30 today, and then finish my English homework and go to sleep." If you set times for yourself, you'll know when you're on track, a little behind, or plain screwed. Just take it one thing at a time. Also, remember to write down all of your homework assignments in a planner or something, if the school gives you one. When you get home, take it out as quickly as you can, open it to the page where all the HW for today is and put it on your work table before you get lazy later. This way you'll be reminded of your HW for the whole night and it's hard to forget about it. And remember, you can't always count on other people to keep you motivated. Don't be motivated by punishment, either. You've got to have some sort of self-control and motivation yourself, because in the real world no one's going to motivate you to do things. |

If you don't do your homework and not try in school..well you fail life..
![]() ![]() What I do is I watch Legally Blonde..haha it sound stupid but when I watch how she tried to get her SATs and the hard work she put in, I think * wow..shes so cool now I'm going to do that too!!* ![]() ![]() And in conclusion.. if you don't do your homeowrk etc... you'll end up being a hot dog vendor or something. Do your work! ![]() ![]() |

I have the same problem, I can't stay focused on my academics anymore. I really need a good amount of acholorship money for college because my brother didn't get any, and between the two of us, it's going to be hard. For me, I just have to keep my mind in order, I don't freak over one bad grade and I just keep telling myself that I need to finish my homework, and study for that test. I challange myself and strive to be better and better each quarter. Though, sometimes it doesn't always work, I'm doing better in school now. A huge thing is, to keep yourlsef organized. I had binders and papers all over the place, I got dividers and organized eveything down to my locker. It helps a lot when you know where everything is, it's easier to get things done.
