A kid in my town named Evan was playing the choking game and failed to untie the rope when he was about to pass out therefore suffocated his way to death. I knew him but I wasn't close. It was still sad since he was a pretty cool guy.

Out of privacy and respect, the local newspeople decided not to write about it in the newspapers. (but there was a report about it in our local town channel).

I was disappointed. He was a smart kid. He knew better than to choke himself. I can't believe a kid who always told me that he will never risk his life ended it with a stupid game. I feel depressed and a little angry, but I feel like I shouldn't be. The people that were closer friends with him are being extremely depressed about it and i don't know how to console them because at this point of time I am confused.

I guess when he got to that point it ended without giving him a chance _dry.gif . The mother was stupid. I heard his mother found him writhing on the floor trying to pull the rope out. After she called 911, all she could do was cry and watch and scream. _dry.gif Could've untied it for him.

Everyone makes costly decisions, some more costly than others, although he died what he did can be a life lesson to others the consequences of something so dangerous.

I just hope you feel better.

Thanks guys. I just can't believe I won't see him in school anymore. I feel like he's going to pop out of nowhere and say this was all a joke.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I just don't understand what would motivate someone to play any type of choking game. Such a sad ending.

This may sound pretty cruel but that lessened the depression.

Sorry about the kid dying. I've had my share of losses too, but I've never heard of a choking game.

Yen, I know how you feel, and even more so, I know how angry and sad you are over the choking game. But like nightmare4taki said, hes a lesson to be learned, by everyone who he reaches through his demise. I hope your feeling better. And I know what you mean about thinking he'll just pop up in the courtyard, and I know what you mean about the dodgeball ( Just replace it with basketball and a boy named Terrence ) .

If you want to talk, Im the person. You have my sn (:

I'm sorry. It really hurts when you lose a friend whether it be your best or someone you saw in the halls. I know how you feel because about a month ago two of my friends passed away within a day of each other and a month or two before them another one of my friends had died from being shot. It hurts when you lose someone and it's weird/awkward to know that you can't see them or won't see them/ be able to hang out with them anymore.

Anyway, I hope things get better for you. Time really does heal everything.

losing people you know really hurts, especially when it's unexpected. my great-grandmother committed suicide a few years ago, and it still hurts. but as chrissy said, as time goes by, the hurt does fade, but remember, the memories will remain.

Wow. I'm terribly sorry. That sounds like a mistake that happened to be his last. The only thing you can do for his friends are just be there when they need to talk or something.

I would say the confusion is normal, since it sounds like a pretty big freak accident. I don't think you'll ever have a true answer to understand why he did that. You're just going to have to accept what happened and not worry about it.

i'm so sorry for your loss.

i do know a bit of what you mean.

in september, a freshman at my highschool, played the same game and lost.
people said that he was happy, that he never would kill himself.
(i didn't know him personally).

but our newspaper didn't say anything about it either.

it def. seemed surreal.

The choking game is when you choke yourself until you pass out..and when you're about to pass out, you're supposed to untie or let go of your throat...

OH YEN!

That's horrible. I've experienced people commiting suicide, but not anyone dieing because of an accident they've caused themselves. I don't know what to say really. If you ever need an outlet hun, I'm only a click away. hug.gif

Oh, I'm so sorry. This was on the news tonight.
Eh, that is a stupid game, but hopefully people will learn to not play it anymore.

RIP Evan.

I are sorry about these two incidents.
