No, it is not wrong. Everyone is entitled to live life however they want to, whether it's with someone of the same sex or opposite. i don't understand why christians are soo against homosexuality....it's not like it's their problem! it doesn't even AFFECT them!

There isn't anything wrong with being something other than heterosexual. I just don't get some people. They automatically shut other people out if they're not heterosexual. Since when did that become the only "decent" or "accepted" sexuality? I realize that our bodies are made the way they are for a reason, but still...

Homosexual people and bisexual people have feelings too, you know. They're living and breathing people that deserve to be treated equally.

I think it's completely fine to be homosexual.
Diversity, my friends.

the people posting in this topic are all saying they're okay with it... but so many other people aren't.

but the ones who aren't are too afraid to post here...

I dont see why so many people are so prejudiced......

What's so wrong about a girl loving a girl or a guy loving a guy? Love is Love.
Why is it that in this country people would rather see two men holding guns than holding hands?

So many people use religion as an excuse to hate.
Jesus said to love your neighbor as your self. Not just to love your straight neighbor.

They say its a sin... they use that as their excuse to hate.
I disagree with the beliefs that think that way, but aside from that, everyone sins. Face it. That's no reason to hate
and isnt hating also a sin?

My friend just starting going out with her girlfriend and already many people are making negative remarks about it.
they dont say it to her face of course. they're too afraid to do that.
instead, they say it behind her back.

Why do so many people hate love?

It's her life. She should make a decision based on her feelings and experiences. Seeking responses from an online forum is going to generate few, if any, quality responses because people are resopnding to such a fragmented view of this person's life. She should be listening to herself.

Call me a hate-monger if you will. However, know that you are mistaken. I do not hate anyone struggling with homosexual desires/tendencies or anyone else for that matter.

The topic is sexuality. Love is not sexuality. I love my friend Mark, though I am not sexually attracted to him.

If you mean God when you say "they", then yes God("they") says it is wrong.

I disagree with those who hate people too.

There is a name for this argument. "Two wrongs make a right." It is a fallacy.
By the same logic any heinous act can be rationalized. ie Everybody sins so we shouldn't condemn ________(insert "sin"-murder, theft, etc.)
QUOTE(ursedonah @ Feb 4 2006, 8:23 PM)

I would agree, but it is only through personal insight. This insight is available to anyone who desires it.

1. The right to keep and bear arms is protected under the constitution as a safeguard for all other rights. Firearms and the individual citizens' right to own them are symbols of liberty. Ironically, this includes the liberty to engage in abberrant sexual activity.
2. I challenge any heterosexual on this site to arouse themselves with a homosexual fantasy. I can't. I am disgusted by it. The knowledge that homosexuality is wrong is a priori for most. Hence most of the world acknowledges the incorrectness of homosexuality. As a very strong appetite sexuality evokes strong emotions.

This is the easiest way to understand why it is wrong:
Very few people on the absolute fringes of society would argue against this statement, "Pedophilia is absolutely wrong." Why is pedophilia wrong? It is abberant sexual behavior. In the interest of space I don't mention any other sex perversions, but they are included. The pedophile may have tendencies/desires to engage in sexual activity with young people as homosexuals have desires/tendencies toward those of the same sex. Is it wrong to have these desires? No. Is it wrong to ACT on these tendencies? YES! The same argument that took homosexuality out of the DSM IV can be used for pedophilia.

PS I used ursedonah's post to try to answer all questions regarding why homosexuality is immoral. Please ask me questions so I may clarify my position.

Edit: I don't think homosexuality should be illegal. I do believe it to be immoral. People should be allowed to exercise their agency.

Pedophilia and homosexuality are two completely different things. Pedophilia is not merely acting on an "aberrant" sexual desire; it's forcing someone else to act on that desire, too. It's taking advantage of someone, in this case a child—someone who is easy to take advantage of.

Assuming a homosexual act is consensual, and both participants are adults, then the situation is completely different—two people are willingly engaging in an activity. No one is being taken advantage of. (If it's not a consensual act, then of course the act clearly falls under the definition of rape, which is again a different point altogether.)

You see the difference: Pedophilia is not wrong because of the mentality, but because one is taking advantage of a person for sexual or other gain. This is not the same as a consensual homosexual relationship.
