According to a recent USHMM podcast, the U.S. should adopt greater political and economic interest in Africa. My question is, is there any motivation (other than moral obligations and global impressions) for the U.S. to promote good governance, economic development, peace, etc. in African nations?

What right does America have to try and promote 'good' government and economic development in another continent?

^I agree. Even though this is a wealthy country, America needs to start spending money on things we actually need to improve. For example, giving schools better school supplies and etc. There are many problems in this country like cities that need better protection and educationa and pavement.
