So I am working on a new vexel, and I am going to post my progressions! I just like to look at how a work is completed from the time its started upon completion. And I really liked this photo of Avril.

fixed the skin shading to be more smooth... it is easier to notice in the actual size(so i included some thumbnails). Also fixed the eye up nice nice

wow, that looks awesome! it is a great picture of her, and you did a great job vexeling it, very realistic. the only thing is that the right side of her face looks kinda weird, but i can tell the picture was just really dark. great job though, it looks awesome!

I do use posterized colours, but i do change the colours which are out of gamma so that they have proper hue properties :)

Agreed.

Also, you should add more layers to the right (her left) eye... cause its just like a big black blob and it kinda sticks out....

Other than that, it looks pretty good.

as far as the posteried colours as i already aisd, i like to include skin tones. The colours that are out of gamma- I change the hue so that they match the rest of the colours in the original.

i only use the shapes as a guide. you can see in the enlarged thumbnails my shapes all have smooth edges. posterized shapes would leave me with jagged edges.
