There is a topic like this in the Lounge, but I figure that we spend a lot of time talking to each other in our little Anime forum, it might be nice to get to know each other a little more! Here, I'll start.
My name is Naomi. I'm 18, and I'm a summer baby! I'll be starting my first semester of college in about two weeks time and I'm terribly excited! And it's easy as that. Start off with your name and a bit about yourself. Feel free to ask questions, too! |

I'm Amanda aka Mandy. I'm 15 turning 16 in April. I'm a sophomore in highschool, I love to write poems, draw, and write fanfiction. I like anime that's either fantasy, a mix of fighting and mech, samurai/ninja, logical, action/drama, sci-fi, romance, and the gun animes. I read a lot of different mangas and I will watch any anime that isn't pointless.

My name is Christina and I'm 18.
I love reading shoujo manga, but only if it's good. I love the tearjerker ones. I don't particularly like long ones (unless it's Hanazakari no Kimitachi E or Hana Yori Dango or something of that status), mainly because they tend to drag on. But hey, some long ones are good. :] I don't like really short ones, I like medium ones. Like um.. Kodocha or Ayashi no Ceres or something :P And I like pie. :D |

Name's Eddie. My finishing move is the V-Crush. I like professional wrestling, martial arts, girls, everytype of music, and I'm a white-washed Asian dude. I have no Asian friends what-so-ever. They're all Hispanic. I'm Thai, Chinese, and Puerto Rican, and I'm more of an Anime Gamer.

... I CRIED a lot during that one part of Ayashi no Ceres in the end. If anyone saw, it was where Ceres asked Mikage if he really loved her. IDK just that moment was really intense... (sorry for spoilers!)
It's hard to find any good anime that would make me cry. Although, I'd have to say that I did have some tears at the end while watching Grave of the Fireflies! :D I still think that MANGA > ANIME but hey, animation is still awesome. :P What do you expect? Cost of anime > cost of manga ahaha |

I do prefer manga to anime simply because I love the art. Yes, it's cheaper, but the art...
DUDE, THE ART! It's amazing, and often times, much better than it's anime. |

yes i like manga then anime better...its the real story to me. like the whole thing. i hate it when they make a manga into an anime and leave out important parts or totally change the whole story like they did in Fruits Basket....very upsetting

Yeah, I feel the same. I think it's pretty much like that when they try to make any form of literature into a movie/series type thing. They do the best they can, but with time constraints and things like budgeting, it doesn't always work out.

Yeah, it is kind of sad. Shall I make a little plug in the AO topic to have new people post in here?

Yeah. I'll see if I can get Patricia or Katie to post it on the first page of the AO topic, and to have this topic pinned.
