In your opinion..
Is there a difference between liking someone and having a crush on someone?

Assuming like means attracted to, I don't think there's a difference.

There is a difference.  Like...if you find a synonym of another word, there still has to be a difference between the two words.

IMO, having a crush on someone doesn't really need a reason.  It may be just a feeling, but for sure it's affection (lust?).

For "like," someone can like their friend.  There are different types.  For the type similar to having a crush on someone, I don't use that word unless I know the person well enough.  Meaning feelings develop with at least some kind of reason.

I think admiration counts as a crush.  If you don't know the person too well (say..do you know his birthday, do you know how he/she acts around friends) then you can't exactly say you like them.  i.e.- a teacher...definitely just judging how he/she teaches doesn't mean enough for you to like them.

However, if you like someone, it's valid say you have a crush with them.

Ah mmk.  Just opinions.
