i don't think so. sure, some use them as fashion statements, but i think most use them to carry around chapstick, money, cell phones, sanitary items, etc. personally, i don't carry one around school. i take a simple, tan-colored one when i'm going out somewhere, though, to carry a cell phone and money.
i mean, that is what a purse is for. |

i dont carry a purse and dont like to..its such a hassle and i dont like having something squished under my armpit...but my moms like what kind of girl r u if u dont carry a purse
 i think it depends on what kind of purse..i think the armpits ones are more girly...when i have to carry something i just use one of those long strap ones across the chest and hang at my waist..i just dont like something squished under my armpit |

Even some guys carry messenger bags now. If you've got stuff to carry, they're rather convenient. I always have one, and I'd be lost without it. :/ Besides, why does it even matter? |

at first that's how i thought of them. but then i realized that there are certain things that a girl needs to hold in them at certain times. plus, all the cellphone, ipod stuff needs to go somewhere, doesnt it? i mean, in the summer, you dont have a coat plus pockets for jeans and stuff aren't deep.
and purse is a crappy word. it is girly if it's like, shiny and pink. |

yeah, i was gonna say yes at first, but then i read other peoples posts and i guess it depends on the purse. like my friend has a sort of dull greenish messenger baggy thing with buttons all over it, and thats not girly at all.
but without a purse like where do u carry ur pads and stuff? idk... |

I think it's a bit girly girl, but like everyone else said, it's normal for a girl to have a purse.
It just depends on what kind of purse your carrying. I love purses, but they can get annoying.

i carry a purse, and im not a barbie doll. i think that carrying purses is just like carrying a backpack; only on your shoulder. ...and you need it for holding all your belongings when you go out

if its full on like "whoa.............. pink-ness" and matches with ur "girly girl" clothes then i guess yea.............. But overall, it depends what the purse looks like, and what u wear to match it. |

Yeah, I don't even own one, but it's not a girly-girl thing. My mom carries her's everywhere, and she's NOT girly!!! Haha!! Wouldn't it be funny to find her in the bathroom fixin' her makeup every five minutes. "Hey gals, does this look good on me?" Lol... purses aren't girly. OBSESSIONS with purses are, though.
