aren't UMD movies outselling UMD games?

psp is basically a show-off device. no one actually uses it for it's intended purpose- the games, at 50 bucks a pop, are just too expensive.

and they're not supportive of hand-held culture.

Plus, most UMD movies cost more than their DVD counterparts.

What, exactly, is the point in spending 250 bucks for a portable movie player, and 30 buck per movie, when I could buy a dvd player for 35 bucks and spend 15$ a movie, or less depending on the age. Hell, I could buy a portable DVD player for less.

DS hits 10 millions sales. 10 Million in one year ain't half bad.

The DS is without a doubt still the reigning handheld this generation. PSP is getting a boatload of better games this year though, but I don't think it will be enough to topple the DS. I think the DS has already hit the critical mass point where developers will be more interested in making games for it than the PSP.

Not to mention nintendo is profiting while Sony is losing.

Feels like only yesterday when I stood in line at Walmart at midnight so I could be one of the 12 people to get a DS. Wow.

I dont have to nintendo DS so my opinion is going to be more than bias towards the PSP. I LOVE IT. The library of games is kind of slacking but this years releases are showing something promising. Also, via emulator I can play any game Nintendo, SNES, Sega, and Neo Geo ever made on my PSP, a big plus. Of course, I still wouldnt mind owning a DS. I think both have their advantages and disadvantages, so there.

PSP!!

Yeah, we all know PSP is in a game drought right now and the DS is selling better blah blah blah. I don't care, I still like the PSP a lot better. Especially with all the emulation and homebrew. And there are a bunch of good games coming out for it later this year.

I own both, so I will show you my opinion through a picture:

(This was back in May so my opinion on the DS is slightly less hateful)

I just don't see a lot of ingenuity with dual screens. Like... why? People were playing just fine with one.

And the fact that the PSP came with the ability to play music and videos and view photos beats everything else the DS had to offer me. I think it had an alarm and a chatroom? Great. Plus, a lot of other companies are showing support for the PSP and its capabilities.

The DS (as well as the GBA) have had emulation capabilites for quite some time now with the addon. And compactflash is cheaper and better than the memory stick. Not to mention the DS (even with the addon and a compact flash card) costs less than a PSP.

Gearbox, what games do you have for both handhelds?

The DS games lineup > PSP lineup.

People said the same thing about the D-pad. Now it's standard. People said the same about analog controls. Now it's standard (look no further than the PSP!). People said they were fine before force feed back, and now it's built into controllers in consoles. Guess who innovated these? Nintendo.

Heck, I can't stand the PSP controls (almost everyone I know who owns the PSP complains about the analog nub's placement).

I own neither (I'm waiting for the redesigned DS or a PSP price drop), but I've played both and I honestly have to give the DS the nod.

To me, the PSP is a curiousity. It's an impressive machine, but I don't see it as cost effective. It doesn't do anything close to perfectly. If I want a portable media player, I'd spend the money on a PVP (not a typo, I mean PVP not PSP). If I wanted to play good games, I'd get a DS.

I think the DS gives more bang for the buck. PSP is nice, sleek, and has some nice little features, but I wouldn't pay $300 for it.

There really isn't anything more to say, especially after seeing the gba movie player that can hold mp3s and movies so basically you get a psp for like 200 dollars less. Ha end of story ds wins!

Ha you're gay and and wrong!
The GBA movie playeronly plays movies that you get from the titles they sell.
Unless you get an empty GBA cartridge with a GBA cartridge dock and cord to your computer, to move the files into it, the GBA movie player sucks. Plus, not many people (mainstream), know about the Empty GBA cartridges.

After trying to decipher that sentence for about an hour, I kind of get what you are trying to say, and you are wrong too.

Obviously the DS is not cooler, since thats only your opinion. Which doesn't matter.
And your facts are all wrong. Did you make these up or something? The DS has NOT sold more then the PS2. The DS has sold more then the PSP, ( I think.) While the PSP has sold LESS then the GBA. Infact, the GBA sold more then PSP and DS sales combined. Dumbshit.

Dude, you're arguing over handheld games and you're calling him gay?

It's called Play-Yan, you insert a compactflash/SD card into it. You don't need an empty flash cart.

I personally want to try out the PSP. I think Playstation games are a bit more fun than Nintendo games. Don't get me wrong, I've always been a Nintendo fan-I had the N64 and the Gamecube.

Zelda, Mario, Super Smash were all great games/series of games. And let's go back to oldschool handheld, Gameboys. I'm not going to lie, but Pokemon was truly addicting when it came out on the Gameboys, it still is.

However, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto (3 and above), and Metal Gear Solids were on Playstation. Yeah yeah, they have Final Fantasy on Nintendo systems, and they have Metal Gear Solids on Nintendo systems, but they aren't as fun as the Playstation ones. Final Fantasy VII through X is better than FF:Crystal Chronicals. Twin Snakes is fun, but Snake Eater is better.

Sure the PSP might have no games right now, but I believe it will soon have many games. Now, let's look at the future gaming consoles. Well, kind of future gaming consoles. Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Revolution. They all look good, even if some are still buggy. But have you seen the controller for Revolution? No offense, but it looks like a dildo with buttons on it. It's a great idea, don't get me wrong. But if you have to aim that thing and swing it around to play games, it'd get pretty tiring. Well seeing that I'm going nowhere with this, I'll just conclude this by saying: I'm for the PSP.

I'm sure it will come through with the games and the prices and everything. Just give it time. I remember DVD players used to cost a fortune, and DVD's were treated [and sold] like gold. But now you can buy a DVD player for what, 50 dollars? And same thing for the DVD's. 15-20 bucks for a movie. It's not so bad.

Oh and battery life for the PSP. Since the batteries are replaceable, and PSP can download all these firmware updates, I'm sure Sony can fix the battery problem. Make the system use less power, replace the battery with some special other one. I don't know, you guys go look this up for me.

Dead pixels and screens too. Firmware updates? Oh but the screen would have to make you replace it huh. I fear this PSP franchise will become like the iPod. It just keeps getting better and better, and you'd have to buy a new one. Whatever I'm done.

Im sorry, but have you EVER seen a dildo?

The Revo controller looks like a remote.

I dont see women pleasuring themselves with their TV clicker.

FF Crystal Chronicles rocked by the way. Playing with four people was awesome. And old school FF beats out anything today.

I wonder what theyll do with the gameboy.
