Welcome everyone!

I have finally decided to write a story. It's going to take a long while to write each chapter since they will be long. I'm sorry, but that's the way I write. Anyway, this account belong to me, Tiffany. Feel free to leave comments and such. To tell you the truth, I have no clue how long this story would be. But I'm hoping it will continue..The original story could be found on my story site that I just created: DisguisedVoice

Trapped in Her Fears - Based on a True Story

Chapter 1: Escaping from the past
It was a new beginning; a new start - but back at the same old place. Looking at the brown building, she smiled. Three long years have been spent here. Many good memories with those she truly cared for and that was all that mattered now. It was her final year before they all separate and went their own ways. Most importantly, it was the year - the year before she ditched this town for good. She was willing to let go of everything and only cling onto those she loved. Taking a deep breath, she let the warm summer breeze fill her lungs. She would be missing it, for fall was soon to come.
Karla inhaled and exhaled deeply for the next long while, as she allowed herself to be carried away back to the past. Everything seemed to hit her like a huge tidal wave. There was so many things that she regretted and she was determined never to repeat them again. Most importantly, the phrase she went through throughout the past two months, where she promised herself to never fall in love again. She knew what it could do to her when it gets to her head. But she was over, over it all. Taking one more deep breath, she entered the school.

It was nice to see everyone's cheerful face as they greeted one another - they all acted as though they haven't been in contact for years. Deep down, Karla wanted to join in the gathering, but something held her back. Quickly, she walked by the different groups of friends she had. Nobody seemed to notice her so she knew she was safe, as she made a beeline for her homeroom.
Waiting outside, Karla turned up the volume on her MP3. She was determined to block out all the cheerful voices coming from those she knew. She knew she wasn't wanted for nobody even took notice of her as she waited quietly by the locked door, leaning back on the lockers, hoping she would find one of her best friends soon.
Turning around, she was surprised to find a figure standing next to her. Blushing, she quickly turned around and pretended she didn't take notice of him. But before she could let her mind wander once again, she was interrupted by one of her best friends, Minka.

No sooner or later, the teacher arrived. Karla looked at Minka and made a disgusted face as she gestured towards the teacher with her eyes. All she returned from her dear friend was a weak smile, who felt exactly the same way. Another year of high school and to start the first day off was a period spent with one of the worst teachers. Karla had no clue what was running through Minka's mind as they made their way into the classroom, but she knew it couldn't be worse than her own thoughts. Thoughts that made her cringe and frown. She was totally not looking forward to homeroom everyday.

Classes began and after the announcements, the chit-chattering around the class came to an abrupt stop as the teacher took down the attendance. Knowing that she should pay attention in case the teacher would question her when he got to his name, Karla couldn't help but let her eyes wander around the classroom.
She was surprised to see so many people she once knew. People she used to be friends, but they are only on classmate terms with her now. While for the rest? Students she has never seen in her life or was in her previous classes, but never plucked up the courage to approach them and get to know him/her.
Her eyes zoomed around the class until they fell upon the figure. It was the same body of the boy who stood next to her outside in the hall. Karla never had a chance to get to know him and she knew it was her own fault. She had so many opportunities in the previous year, but she never bothered getting to know him. Cody was his name.

'Cody..Cody who?' ran through Karla's mind. Then she remembered. Cody what's-his-face - he was the dude who she saw almost everyday in the past. Just last year, he was one of her locker neighbours that were stationed approximately three doors down. 'What else?' He was in her first period class of semester one, but she didn't recall him in her class. 'Probably he dropped?' But for one thing, Karla knew for the fact that he was in her chemistry class. Biting down on her tongue, she knew why she never approached him. She was afraid, afraid of making a fool of herself. There he was, sitting by himself in chemistry everyday to the side of the class, away from everyone. He was the quiet one, but one of the smartest one in the course. Or so it seemed to her.
Karla shook her head slightly as she remembered the fun she had in the course, despite the distraction that he always created. It wasn't his fault that she was too shy to even simply say 'hi' to him back then. But she did recall the numerous amounts of times she would take sneak peeks at him. Although she usually only saw the left profile of his face or his back, she couldn't stop the little butterflies that was in her stomach. He was just too darn cute and that's what truly kept her from approaching him. She didn't want to make herself seem like a fool either. After all, he had already caught her attention and that was bad enough. Twisting her body back to face the front of the room, she began paying attention. She mustn't…she mustn't fall for another guy ever again.

So what do you think about it? There's going to be more drama and believe me, it will. & it is based on a true story. Heh.

Chapters 2-4 are done! Enjoy :] I'm sorry if I won't be updating till Feb. I will try to update at least once or twice before then, but with all the exams and University things coming up, it will be hard for me. I will try my best. Haha. Hope I kept you in suspense!

Chapter 2: Mission Accomplished?

Karla couldn't believe it as she walked into her third period class. Out of all the people she saw, the person who stuck out the most was no other than - Cody. As if being stuck with him in her first period class wasn't bad enough, things got worse when she discovered that his locker was only down the same small hall. She really didn't need any more distractions coming from someone like him, and there he was, in her afternoon class.
Okay. Breathe, Karla, breathe! Inhale, exhale, and vice versa. Okay, calm down now. Just hold on. It's nothing but just lust right now. You're not falling for another guy. Remember you promised yourself over the break. Do not give up now. You've been doing so well. You didn't think of anything to do with relationships. You rejected every guy who asked you out over the break. Now, concentrate and just don't make a fool of yourself.
Taking a seat next to Minka, Karla tried her best to not let her mind wander freely onto the presence of Cody. But she got to admit, she turned around in her seat a lot, even when she was simply talking to her best friend.

Chapter 3: Mission…Failed.

The same routine continued for the next several weeks of school, with Karla still being too shy to approach Cody. She was determined to not for a guy who was out of her league. Someone she knew who wouldn't want to be her friend, so even the thought of being a classmate friend didn't seem possible. All she could do was wait for these feelings to go away. After all, she has been like this for her entire life. Wait, and not do anything. She didn't want history to repeat. It was always the same. Either she never got the chance to know the special someone and only stare at them from afar. Or once she got to know them, she had the talent of messing up their friendly relationship and in the end; he would never speak to her again or worse, pretend that she never existed.

It wasn't until the end of the first month of school, did her determination of not falling for another guy failed.

Chapter 4: Falling in Fear

Even now, Karla could remember the day they met so clearly, that if she was an artist, she could've made a painting of the scenery. It was on a warm, breezy afternoon. A few of her classmates were there with her, which made her more comfortable. But to start things off, it all started off awhile before afternoon classes began.

Out of nowhere, Colin popped out in front of Karla and Minka as they made their way toward class. Colin - another classmate, but also their friend who enjoyed teasing and making fun of them. As usual, he was an expert on annoying the two. This time, he started interrupting their conversation as the two girls keenly tried to not take notice of him. Frustrated, Colin began to shove the two girls playfully. Not hard, but enough to make them frustrated with his immaturity. Alas, a shoving war has gone on between the three even to this point in life.

"Hey, what are you guys up to?" an unfamiliar voice behind them asked.
Whipping around, Karla found herself face-to-face with Cody. Blushing, she quickly looked down - anywhere but directly at him. But before she had a chance to explain, Colin burst in and accused that the two girls were bullying him. Surprisingly, all Cody did was laugh and teased that Colin was such a female for being able to be pushed around so easily. Frustrated with Colin who interrupted her, Karla spoke up.
"Nooo! He's lying! He was the one pushing us!"
As if to prove it, Colin began to shove Karla to make her walk faster. Little did he know that Cody disliked it whenever guys hit or shove girls. So as the four talked among themselves with the exception of another classmate, Cody and Colin began to argue. Then eventually, they ended up shoving one another forcibly to the extent that everyone told them to calm down before one of them will trip over the desks that they banged into. At that moment, all Karla could hope for would be that the teacher would arrive late and that nobody got hurt.

Their teacher finally arrived late and since there was no class for them today, he took them out to the field out in the back, due to the fact that he was supervising the juniors for their Orientation day. So this is where we ended off, with the description of the scenery earlier on.

Sitting down in a circle on the grassy field, the group of students began to talk. Then they began to share their summaries of their short stories that they were working on. No sooner than that, they all slacked off. After all, who could concentrate on such a nice afternoon outside under the sun with a few hundred students screaming in the background? So a game of Truth-and-Dare began.

Obviously rules were made up in case anything got out of hand. The rules simply consisted of two:
1. No dares are to be disturbing in any sense - to anyone and they have to be within school policy,
2. No truths could invade into people's privacy and if so, if one does not want to answer, let them be.

The game went quite well according to Karla. For her dare, all she had to do was spin around on the spot until she was dizzy, as she went "ahhhhhhh" throughout the entire dare. Whereas for the rest: Minka was dared to talk to a tree and hug it for a minute; Cody was to hug the school and kiss it; Colin was to kiss the ground; and the other classmate was to do a break dance move. On the other hand, when it came to truths, some of them caused total awkwardness and ever once in awhile, some were not answered. While for some of the other questions, secrets were revealed. This was how Karla got to learn more about Cody, and though some things about him were a bit of a turn off, she still found him attractive.

However things got out of hand when questions began to invade one another's privacy. Noticing Cody's sudden silence, Karla knew something was going to happen and it wasn't good at all. As if to prove it, he began to break his CDs and pens. She never found out what made him become so angry, but she had a slight idea. It must be the questions about his past. After all, she knew he had gone through rough times with someone he truly cares about. But nothing cold be done to resolve their relationship, and thus, he got frustrated just thinking of it. So the period ended, with everyone in an awkward silence. The sound of the bell signalling for the last period couldn't have been more welcoming, as Minka and Karla ran towards their class. Both of which were extremely terrified of Cody's actions.

As the two made their way to class, they hardly spoke to one another. Minka was really shocked by everything that happened. How everything was going along great and then all of a sudden, everything crashed. Whereas for Karla, she was extremely worried and afraid - she didn't know what to do, or how she felt. The fear of still having feelings for Cody, even after everything that happened just a few minutes before, was extremely shocking. Dumping her belongings onto the desk, she quickly left the classroom and made a trip to the washroom, and didn't return until class just started.
When she returned, a good friend of hers, Valerie, asked if she was okay. Puzzled, Karla had no clue what she meant, and resumed back to her seat. Later on did she find out that Minka had told her what happened. But Karla didn't care. She was so confused with her mixed emotions that she sat quietly throughout the entire period, ignoring everyone. But for one thing, she was glad that she never told anyone about her feelings for Cody.

Finally, the end of the day! Once again, Karla found herself in complete silence as she walked with Minka to their lockers. She wanted to get away from the building as soon as she can, in case Cody was there at his locker. Quickly, she began to pack, only to find him at his locker. So slowing down, she took as much time as she could, packing her things, while hoping that he would leave before she was done, despite the fact that when leaving, she had to pass by his locker. Luckily, he was gone before she was done. Speeding up, Karla packed the rest of her belongings and quickly walked down the hall to exit the building. Little did she know that Cody hadn't left yet.

& now, for the replies :]

//azn_at_heart. Wow. Either you are the only reader or the one who wasn't lazy to leave me a comment. Lol. Anyway, I hope it will turn out to be a good story. Thanks! :]

ohmy.gif  Wow. You should publish it when you're done with the whole story. I LOVE IT! Can you e-mail me the chapters, or, if you don't mind me copying them and saving them? I can't wait for the next chapter!  happy.gif

Aww, thank you. I hope that I'm not too wordy, since I have a habit of doing that. Awesomeness. You read it all at once, too =D Hmm, I'm sorry but I can't e-mail you the chapters because whenever I write them, that's when I post them up. So it's an unfinished story. But not to worry. So many things happened in life, there will be a lot happening. I seriously have no clue how many chapters there will be in the end because this is only the beginning and it's four chapters. Of course, you can save them :] Haha. But give me the credit, okay? Thanks. It's all based on my own life, actually. All in the course of just 3-4 months ever since the beginning of the school year.

Hope I kept you in suspense! My friends got frustrated that I just ended with the one line about little did Karla know that Cody hadn't left yet. I will try to update whenever I can, but with exams coming up and it's my final year, I might only be able to update with one or two more chapters before the end of the month.
