The avatar and signature is just a way people want to express themselves or show something they show interest in. It just shows their individuality to me.

If I'm looking for a certain post, I look at the sigs/avs to find it quicker. And yeah, I also recognize people by it.
...I need a new sig, haha.

Yeah same with me. I scroll through looking at the avatars to find someone's post.

And yes, I think that it gives a little bit of an insight into the person; if it's a music artist it shows what music they're into, etc.

A person's avatar and sig are what make me notice them and remember them around CB. I think they're important because they give people a little look inside who the person is as an individual.

Yah your avatar & Sig I think are very important.
People base a lot of their opinions on you through them.
How you look (if you have pictures up), what you're into (anime, movies, your photoshop skills,etc..)
Which reminds me, I def need a new sig. I just haven't had time, and I'm too lazy lol. And i'm horrible at making them. lol
They are pretty important.

I recognize a lot of the staff by their avatars, they seem to keep them longer or keep up with the style.

I got bored with my sig. As much as I enjoy KanYe's music, the year is coming to a close.

You're one of the few people I recognize at CB instantly, your av/sig's are always original but with a lot of you in them.

QUOTE(lolita kitty @ Dec 29 2005, 6:23 PM)

oooh, and remember how everyone thought jordan was a girl? part of it was because of his (old) avatar and sig.

*

Well if you had actually talked to Jordan, you would know he was a guy...I think I always knew Jordan was a male before the whole confusion...

Anyways, I think they are more for fun. I don't really put mine out there to show people who I am...I just like to mess around.

It allows me to quickly identify users by looking at a page, but I usually remember users more for the content of their posts than their picture. I have sigs disabled anyway, which cuts down dramatically on page loading times (since everyone has to have huge images in their sigs wink.gif ).

hmm. well, i always have the av and sig enabled because i'm too lazy to disable them. but yes, they do sort of tell you about how a person is, and you can infer what kind of person they are and imagine their life. then, you can come up with weird stories and think about all the different aspects of their life.

o.o umm, wow. i seriously need to get off createBlog.

Avatars and signatures sure put an impression on people. But it's kind of like judging a book by it's cover. Get it?

i try to make my sig/avt. as much related to me as possible
my avatar is a picture of me on the last day of school last year with one of my brother`s punk-rock friends. i like this avatar because it shows i can hang out with different people. althought you can barley tell.

my sig right now explain`s who i love. before it was a custom nike dunk, before that was a picture of me and some punk rockers [brothers friends again], and before that was little icons which stood for the things i love. then before that i had a picture of me& my husband. so my sig pretty much sybolizez what i love, and the color i`m feeling. i am actually not feelin` purple right now. but orange. [w/e] yeah then little stuff like 'cliqs' as i call them. haha me&de, then links to my pages i have.

simple as that.
avt=something that rep`s me.
sig=things i love

oh yeah. and i`ve had the same avatar since i joined cb.. haha.. i think? w/e. its ollddddd
