Ripping music and CD metatags. Options

So I rip a lot of CDs (actual CDs that I bought or borrowed, not CD-Rs/CD-RWs)onto my computer with Windows Media Player. A lot. In any case, a couple months ago my computer stopped ripping music from CDs with the metatags so I manually entered the tags in. However, recently, I find that I have neither the patience nor time to enter them in. So, my question to you would be, how would I go about fixing this problem so that my WMP rips music from CDs with the tags already in place?

my guess is you have a firewall or such that has stopped your WMP from accessing the online database.

either this, or there is a hidden option that's disabled.

options that might do the trick:

1- on the player tab, connect to the internet
2- on the privacy tab, update media files by retrieving information from the internet
3- on the library tab, retrive attitional information from the internet.

of course, i'd like to point you to exact audio copy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/), which is quite useful in ripping CDs.

it retrieves it's CD data from freedb, not cddb. cddb logs, by ip address, the CDs which you rip.

it can also rip from CDs that use certain types of copy prevention.

it requires having and external encoder, like LAME, to encode the actual MP3s tho.
