Setup Free *.be Domains.

Required:
1. Have a Sub-domain/Domain with DNS control and 1 Parked Domain Spot.
2. Be able to follow step by step instructions, instuctions listed.
3. You must know what dns is.
4. And if u need any more help, feel free to pm me, AFTER you read tutorial biggrin.gif

No, this is not advertisement
I wasn't sure if i should put this in tutorial, since this is web hosting talk. Yes this is a free domain, i am simply explaining how it works. These are free *.be domains. Yes i said, totally, free. I have one, www.vasilia.be , i havent dont much to it yet, but its there. No, there is no free web hosting package that goes along with it, you must be able to set the dns on your own in the logged in mode. You can make a total for 10 .be domains for free, it wont let you register anymore with the same computer/network/IP, its a special system they use. I bet your looking for the site link now right? well its http://nucleus.be/

Ok Enough of the blab of nucleus and on to the tutorial!

Yes im sure you notice its in DUTCH so you must go to the TOP LEFT of the navigation menu and youll will see the England flag. Click it, the page should come up in english language now. Yes very good, now you will see the area with domainname and the domain choice. So choose a name, yes type it in and hit go. The next page will come up ( if name is taken) and there will be a spot for the domain name, domain .something stuff and something that will say check OR Zoeken(check) on the bottom it will say if it is free or taken, then u click order to get it. I will be using www.lineage-2.be.

So after you hit order, it will take you to a log in page. Fil out information sheet, i reccomend lie about name, address, and phone number, since they will only contact you for errors. then after you finish that hit next>>, for phone number DO NOT forget to add +32 on to it, if u cannot get it to work, the number should re-appear above it and all u gotta do is choose it.

Okay, next you will come to a final registration of the domain, choose 1 YEAR!!, it is free for one year, then you must RENEW it, simple yes. Do not buy anything else, since its in european money, unless you know the conversion rates betweem it all. So go and hit next, set it up, then for the NAMESERVER CONFIGURATION choose "Use your own nameservers." and hit next, 4 bottom spot list should come down, then input the dns server from which you are using. The once that complete hit next, il be using ns1.hiya-host.com and ns2.hiya-host.com, since they are my sub-domain host.

Then it will come to a "Confirm your Order" page, the price should be 0, then hit next, then it will say "congratulations" Good Job, Domain is setup/or will be in 24 hours. Now go to your NUCLEUS CPANEL and in the navigation go to Your domainnames, then a list will be there, click the domain name you registered. Check the domain DNS before continuing, to avoid future problems.

Okay good job, now go to the cpanel you are using (or talk to domain owner if ur setting up on a sub) and go to PARKED DOMAIN and put in the www.****.be domain that you are using!! if it doesnt work and says something like the nameservers arent right, then wait for it to connect (may take 24 hours) and then once its parked, there SHOULD be a folder in your files and the folder is the domain biggrin.gif if you have any questions/problems then feel free to ask here, and i will answer the best i can.

P.M. If more help needed, i will add updated info to help tutorial if needed =)

^If you mean, 'do you have to be hosted a __ to use their domains?', then No, I don't think so. I registered a domain there with the given website, and then just changed the name servers. Or if you mean, 'Is a host necessary to use these .be domains?', then, yes.

Oh ok.

------------

When the domain is finally activated, how will I be able to start uploading to it, because I don't see a place to do that on the control panel.

I'm having trouble on these parts:

When I clicked my domain name in "Your DomainNames" section, here's what I see:

And where's the "DNS" you're talking about in there? And what do you mean about the Parked Domain thing? Because I can't literally see it. O.O

When he's talking about parked domain, I think you'll see that in 24 hours after the domain is active.

sigh.. ok "Park Domain" These will be located under a sub-hosting IF your domain host will DO IT for you, Or if you own a domain & cpanel, go to parked domains, and the url in the spot, its really easy. Under your domain info there is something called "Name Servers" There you put the dns in which u plan on using for ur .be site.

P.S. Weird addiction, can u take that link off your post? To avoid further inconvience or confusion? tahnx

Oh, sorry..I assumed you had a host already. I don't think they provide free hosting, but I'd recommend applying here:

or here:
