mom: (8:00AM): *slams door open* wake up!!
me: *groans, pulls covers over head* mom: (8:10AM) WAKE UP! or you can't go out tonight me: WTF!! its my FIRST DAY OF BREAK!! I almost screamed at her...she knew I was totally exhausted last night. then: "i won't pay for SAT's or anything unless you study your ass off" Why do azian parents always have to use social life and $ to boss kids around? I'm so pissed. I'm also sooo not a morning person so this completely ruined my day. ok, end of rant. Anyone have this kinda thing with their parents? |

agh, i know what you mean.
if i got a bad grade on my test, i can't do anything, even if i had planned it all week. and they always say do this or you can't go anywhere. and they know that i'm going to do something, but they'll end up yelling at me anyway, and i can't go. no matter how hard to try to do something nice, it doesn't work. |

ahah yeah! the computer one always comes up.
i think my parents gave up really, but theyre still pissed if i turn up at school late and miss class, cuz i really only have three hour classes a day, usually in the mornings. and if i mess up ill have to repeat two whole years, which sucks, so i guess i need to work my ass off and do my best. ok i went off point a little. but i hate gettin up early i think its most parents really, regardless of ethnicity |

1. I'm certain there was a topic about this before. Jellybean's topic about how her parents are strict should be close enough.
2. Its not only Asian parents, its all parents that care. This should be closed or merged. |

^ Yeah. So many topics about asian parents. Every race of parents have strict parents and pretty much every parent has used going out on weekends as threats. Dont get me wrong, im asian/pacific islander. But sheesh, whats the deal with "asian parents, asian parents are sooo stricts, asian parents only care about grades" . All parents care about grades and your well being.
And yes. I always have something going on with my choir and for rehearsals we go up to sometmes 11. with school the next day, for which i have to wake up at 6. Im usually threatened with no weekend privelges |

Wtf. It depends on how the parents think, not their ethnicity. My parents don't want me to have a girlfriend at all.
I suggest you don't argue what you don't know about. |

can you people shut up about your parents already???
they do that because they care! they probably didn't get the chance to get a good education like you do. a parent's job is to have their child succeed in life and to have more and be able to do more than the parent did. you should freaking appreciate that your parents are pushing you to get a good SAT score. your social life honestly isn't going to mean sh*t if if you're still living with your parents when you're 30 because you don't have a decent job and no decent college wants you. what is the point of dating in the 7th damn grade? just so you can be like oh i have a girlfriend/boyfriend i am so cool. junior high relationships usually if not always don't last. |
