you know, when i play my guitar by myself, its pure, its tranqual, ...its crazy ass shiznit. but then when i play with others, it just doesnt work. everyones off beat, someones impatient with trying to figure something out, the other takes the lead and expects the others to follow from scratch. i find myself just staring at the other guitarist and drummer, the singer, and im not even playing, just staring like... wtf. for any one whos in a band, how the hell do you just click together?

it looks so easy when you think about it, but its almost impossible when you try.

Have you guys established who's the Lead and who's the Rhythm guitarists lol. I think you guys need to probally learn some notation/ theory, apart from TAB lol, and set up a song with a time sig, keys, scales, chord formations, drop tuning for metal guitar(a,b,c,d) etc.

Good luck.

Trying something easy like bass doing one thing then guitar doing the same just two strings higher and 2 frets higher. A drummer can always get away with a Kick, Kick, Snare. Kick, Snare. :)

thats why you need to find people that you can make music with, not people that you can't. or maybe youre just a solo artist

Haha! It seems drummers are the worst with timekeeping, and they play the most important role in it!

Um, yeah...just don't play right away...actually have an organizational meeting or something so you can establish who's on what and who does what where. Then play.

Nobody around here has the same taste in music so I'm learning Guitar and bass soon, I already got drums down pretty good. :) Much easier than hassling with other people. Maybe you should all try to learn a cover song first before trying anything you come up with.
