http://www.wtomc6.gov.hk/

Hong Kong is hosting the 6th ministeral conference of WTO, which is held from 13 - 18 December at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre.

DISCUSS.

I think the local press here is focusing too much on the demostrations rather than the meeting itself.

I saw a group of Koreans demostration on a corner of a busy street (Nathan Road) in Tsimshatsui this morning... they were like drumming and shouting slogans, it was really weird. blink.gif

Seems like no one is interested in this.

Yeah, I watched the HK news this morning. It was like pepper spray was raining from the clouds. =_= Did you actually see them in person? Weird.

I definitely think that the press focuses too much on the demonstrations, but you gotta admit, they are way more interesting than articles about the meeting itself. The media just gives what their audience wants.

^ hey you can't exactly say that it's pointless.

The South Korean farmers are just trying to express themselves in a different way... that's all.

But now the demostrations are on the news EVERY SINGLE DAY, it's starting to get boring. yawn.gif

Yeah, now that my parents force me to watch the news in HK every morning, I'm understanding how boring it's getting.

The last time I checked, they kept a live shot on the group of South Koreans in Wan Chai.

Ahh, the World Trade Organization. Not too much knowledge about it, but I live near the IMF and World Bank, which have been given sufficient criticism, as well.

Someone fill me in on both praises and criticisms of the WTO, please?
