Are you in one - if so which one and where? Do you know anybody that is? What are your thoughts on gangs (in general and specific ones)? I'm DB Latin King from Astoria, New York, just so you know. I made this topic because some people talk a lot of shit about gangs, whereas most of it isn't true.

i remember there being a lot of gangs in boston before i mived to the suburbs. I know some ppl that r crips. kind of sad when comparing those gangs and the "gangs" in the town I live in.

haha i remember one time i was going to a teen night club over summer in massachusetts, and there was a strict dress code for the guys.
no red, blue, jeans, collared shirts, and bandanas. and adding to that, they had to go through metal detectors before entering the club. |

Don't sweat over it so much WESTwood. Life goes beyond that of gang life, so of course its gonna get criticized and be made fun of by others that don't understand or by those that just don't like it. To think that gang members are computer illiterate and don't frequent internet forums is pretty naive.
Conversely, I've grown up in areas of gang influence, seen people get shot, been shot at, etc, etc. It isn't fun. But put into perspective, petty street gangs are on the bottom in the crime hierarchy. Instead of reppin' ya hood or throwin' up a set, improve the very hood you're destroying. |

i have a cousin thats in a gang hes the number 1 gang here that i know of..if anything happen to any of his family member he will mess them up...but one day he went to go chill with is friends he got shot in the head..but luckly hes alright the bullet didnt hit his skull it turn back...now they trying to find the guy and mess him up...

gangs suck...they killed my first cousin...
got another one life in jail for possesion of enough cocaine to get 15 people so high theyd be retarded.... and it ruined my mother and father's marriage...and cost me my dad for nearly 9 years...the fool was in jail while i was born... anyone who joins a gang is seflish and ignorant as to what harm it can do to their family friends and anyone else who may care about them. hmmph |

I was in a gang. ( But, no really i was. ) And to put it bluntly, my boyfriend at the time was killed and i got out of it.
Gang life isnt worth it. I had my reasons for turning to it. I had MANY reasons for turning to it. But its not the life i want to lead. Ive already buried so many friends ( 14 to be exact ) since i was 11. The numbers just keep on growing. ): |
