dvd movies

i have downloaded some movies and now I want to put them on dvd. i am using nero to burn them...but they just wont burn i am using a DVD+R (if it matters)
it says that it is encoding but it when it finishes encoding theres a pop up telling me that i ned to insert a CD, but the Cd's i have only have 80 minutes in them while the DVDs have 180 minutes...I dont understand where i have to burn my movies in can someone help?

sorry if its confusing... i myself am confused lol

oh and the movies are .avi files

Convert your video file to a DVD format first.
I suggest: WinAVI Video Converter

What the f**k?

You have to burn the movies either onto a Cd or DVD. You answered your own question.
Also, the minutes doesn't matter, since that only relates to music.
