what grade you're in doesnt determine what level of flow you have, and yes everyone is different. if its you're first or 2nd day, i suggest you pick heavy.

I remember reading somewhere that it's better that one does NOT use a maxi-tampon or a really heavy one. The thing is that when one has a tampon in for a long time (like, longer than 4-6 hours), the bacteria from the "vagina" gets absorbed into the tampon. It manifests and causes a greater risk of infection due to the size of the maxi. Or well, that's what I read from a magazine.
If you're just starting, you really should use smaller, lighter ones, especially since big ones will probably hurt more since the're big and yea. You should use little ones, imo. Also, if your flow is heavy, perhaps it's better to NOT use a tampon. Personally, I see tampons as something that should be used and changed frequently, and more of a "on the go" in of thing. Yay for pads! And don't think that my views are biased, because I've used tampons before. And I suggest you NOT use them at such a young age, since you're still developing. Plus, when you're younger, the menstrual cycle is irregular, sometimes unstable, so it's best you use pads. |

^agreed. your menstrual cycle is probably still a little unstable why not wait a few more years before using tampons.and if you're not sure on the type of flow you are then all the more to use a pad until you're certain

first insert a regular tampon. then, put a pantyliner on your underwear just in case & wait for about 4 hours. if it leaks before then, then move up and so on. over time, youll figure everything out!

i only use one size (the normal) but if i'm heavy, i'll change it more often. like it says use up to 4-8 hours but sometimes i'll use it for only 3 hours because of the flow.

I use the regular.
I change it probably every 3-3 and a half hours. |
