I've been looking for Jeans that I want for Christmas and I went to all sorts of brands online. I saw a pair of regular jeans for like 600$! It's so freakin ridiculus.
The other day I was watching tv and they were talking about it. They were asking young girls whos parents bought them clothing that was 200$ for a shirt. The girls were like, "Yeah, the more expensive it is the comfy and beautiful it is."
Then the guy asked them why they wanted expensive clothing. Heres there responce, "It makes you look more beautiful than any one else, and it makes you more popular." What in heavens name are their parents teaching them. Lol.

Anyways, My clothing usually comes really cheap, and everyone says they love my outfits. Soo, whats your opinions?

Yeah, I know. It's pretty stupid.
600 dollars clothes don't make you cool or popular.
They make you look stupid.
Sure they may look comfy, but if the only reason you're buying them is casue they are expensive, and you wanna show off? Then, yeah, you're stupid.

But if it were comfort, or like, a fashion statement, or cause it looks good.

Yeah, I agree. I think that really overpriced clothes is ridiculous, especially if two shirts are made of the same material and look the same, but one costs more than the other. Sometimes, it's because of the brand name.

over-priced clothing doesnt make you popular. i know a chicks that wears brand & everything, & everyone hella hates her. you can not wear brand & still have alot of true friends.

thats is also true, designer brands have good material. but you can also find some non-brand clothing & they can still be made of good material. so i guess you just have to search for it _smile.gif.

Yep, some of the time, they're really comfortable. But yes, I agree, the prices can get overwhelming and ridiculous. I would never buy $600 jeans or a shirt priced at $200. I could get like a whole new wardrobe with all that.

It is definitelly rediculous to buy a pair of jeans for $600. Also, $200 for a shirt?! mellow.gif That's insane.

I mean, clothes should be bought for comfort. The girl said "it makes you look more beautiful than anyone else" and that "it makes you popular." WTH.. Clothing only makes you popular to people who are VERY superficial and materialistic. But hey, we live in a society where a variety of people follow trends to the point where they only befriend those who look and/or dress like them.

What happened to wearing comfortable clothing? What happened to being popular with people and having many friends due to their great personality? What happened to INNER BEAUTY? blink.gif

i don't think people will know how much that shirt is unless you go around telling them, but i'm sure that half the people would think you are crazy to buy sucnh an expensive shirt. i don't think it will make you popular in anyway unless it's to those who do the same thing

AHHHHH!!! I WANNA KILL EM ALLL!! omg..theyve all been BRAINWASHED!! AHG! whats this world come too...of COURSE shirts for $200 r a RIPoff!!!! just that everyones been brainwashed into thinking brandnames=coolness...i get my clothes for $10 or less and i get compliments on them too b/c my clothes r cheap but they have really interesting and unique details that u dont usually/neverrr find on brand name clothes wheres its a $200 white tee w/ their logo on it

and its not like my clothes fall apart in the middle of the street..theyre cheap and wayyy uniquer looking unlike the ppl wearing old navy shirts that 304872 other ppl have exact copies of

i have a friend who brags about how much each article clothing on him costs...hes a north face guy...so hes like...pants $500!!! shirt..$200!!! goretex!!! blahblah..and its like..my pants cost $10...and they look the same if not better than brand names...u cant really tell the difference in a $500 shirt and a $5 shirt unless u look at the tag..

i had another friend teasing his friend b/c he wore an unknown brand of white tshirt and he points at his own plain white t shirt and says OLD NAVY!..and dude...they were the SAME EXACT WHITE T SHIRT TO MEE!!! and served the same function...-__- AND i didnt see his "unknown brand" tshirt fall apart while walking or anything -_______-

i think it depends on the brands... some of them are really special and are really good quality, but some are just expensive because their name is on the clothes or w.e.
lots of the stuff i've seen at nordstrom is a real rip off. but stuff at like... kenzie is gorgeous.

I think its stupid to have jeans that cost like 60 dollars, just because they slapped a brand on. Maybe if i could afford those, i would think it was wonderful and reasonable. But unfortunately i havent gone shopping in two years, ( not including a shirt here, or a pair of pants to replace my old ones that were so worn out they ripped, practically in two ) and me and my brother share clothes.

I think it completely depends on the brand and what you're selling.

You can't really expect to buy anything designer, especially clothing, under 300 dollars. You simply cannot. Not that I would go and burn a few hundred dollars for the latest Chloe blouse because it makes me look rich or whatever, but I think that the prices are so high for their own reasons. Think of all that time. All that labour, all the costs of the materials and stuff. You may not think it's worth it but that's just how much it costs.

Then again, I'm talking about designer labels. Then there's the really casual stuff, cotton tshirts and the like that sell for hundreds. *rolls eyes*

I guess that brings me to how people buy expensive clothes to look "cool"...anything that people buy or use to seem "cool", be it a pair of red-soled Christian Louboutin heels for a few hundred or a Livestrong bracelet for a buck, is just stupid.

Just wondering, where in Alaska? If you live near Anchorage or Juneau, there's a few malls and yea... :P But you're right, there isn't much there. My brother-in-law lives there, so yea...

As for what Gigi said -- I agree. I mean, there's a reason that certain things are high-priced. But it's CRAZY to pay for something that looks and is made by the exact same thing as another (which is of a cheaper price).

Oh yea, and I ALSO think it's crazy for people to pay over $300 on a dress (besides a wedding dress) if they're only wearing it once. WTH is with the people buying $500+ prom dresses and only wearing them once? I mean, sure it's a "night to remember," but wow... There's more to remember than a dress. whistling.gif

lols i think that expensive clothing is unnecessary really. if expensive clothing makes you popular, you're basically buying your popularity lols. even saying that, it's not really true...i consider myself fairly popular and you know i go BARGAIN HUNTIN LIKE A MO...hahah

well i know what you mean, but the sad thing is that people actually will still buy clothes even if they are crazy expensive. so i don't think it's ridiculous, because brands make so much money that way, and sometimes the clothes are worth it.

but yes, it's soooo annoying when you really want it but you know you don't have the money. _dry.gif

yes, over priced clothing is ridiculous. nobody is going to know how much you spent on a pair of jeans when they see you wearing them, not too many people like stare at you and try to figure out what brand your jeans are or how much they are.

besides, what's the point in spending like $100+ on something that probably cost like less than $10 to make?

Depends on the price, some overpriced clothing you can't get anywhere else, so you buy it from there. It also depends on the quality of the fabric made, and the comfort.

It's funny how some people spend like thousands of dollars on clothes instead of giving it to people who acctually need clothes. And I wonder what happens to those clothes after they wear it 1 night? Garbage. Thousands of dollars down the drain. This world is corrupted with money, clothes and other things. Lol.

-The most exspensive clothing I have is like 20$. I am like the bargain queen. I have so many shirts worth like 2-5$. Its awesome.
