Okay, I lied. It's chem :E uhhh due December 7,

Doing mole problems.
1 mole of particles = 6.02 x 10^23 particles

A mole of Milky Way candy bars placed end to end would reach across the Milky Way Galaxy how many times?

Milk Way Galaxy = 100,000 light-years in diameter
1 light year = 5.88 × 10^12 miles

So the Milky Way, in miles, would be 5.88 × 10^17 miles. Right?
And a small Milky Way candy bar would be = 4.5 cm

AHGNKJANB HELP.

So what do I start with?

EDIT;
errrrrghhhhh
actually, the teacher wanted me to use the big candy bar, so it's 10 cm. my bad. so this is what i have:

1 mole * 2.06x10^23 * 10 cm/10^5 * 1 light second * 1 light minute/60 light seconds * 1 light hr/60 light minutes * 1 light day/24 light hours * 1 light year/365.25 light days

which amounts tooooo...
2.06x10^23/3.16x10^12
=6.52 x 10^10

???????????? help
.

light year = 3x10^8m/s

distance of a light year = 9.46x10^15m

length of candy bar = 4.5cm
= 0.045m

how many candy bars across = 9.46x10^15m/0.045
= 2.1x10^17

1* 10^6 light years * 3 * 10^8 meters/ light sec * 60 *60 * 24 * 365.24 * 10 = 10 cm milky way bar lengths to go across the milky way.

take a mol, divide by that number.

I have a really handy mole conversion program that I wrote when I took chemistry. It converts to a number of other units.

):
now that, i would like.

okay, so
1 mole * 6.02 x 10^23 * 10 cm
now ihave to convert cm to light years. noooooooOoOO

3x10^8m/s = 1 light year

0.01m

0.01/3x10^8m= how many light years... i dont have a calculator here so do it yourself

i hope thats right...eh
