The Scalpula:
http://ect.downstate.edu/courseware/haonline/figimgs/1_1.gif

Its on the back of your body. I was just wondering, when u push your shoulders back, are u supposed to be able to see it and feel it?

If not, does that mean u gotta lose weight coz you can't see it?

I was wearing a singlet top today and my dad said that he's noticed that i'm getting fatter on the shoulders and my back...... so i was just wondering, if I can't see the scalpula bones anymore does that mean I need to lose weight?!?!

Does anybody know?

Yea, as in see the bone under the skin when u push your shoulders back.

If u don't see it entirely, does that mean i need to lose weight?

Oh, you mean the shoulderblades? I don't know, I don't think the visibility of the bone under your skin should be a basis for whether or not you should lose weight...it varies from person to person.

I know that I'm of an average weight, and you can hardly see my collarbones, but I know someone who is more curvy and her collarbones are very prominent. I don't think weight has a lot to do with it.

For me, I can only feel my shoulder blades when...I reach for my right shoulder blade with my right hand, same with the left. *shrugs* Maybe you can try that.

i think it's fine if your shoulderblades are barely visible. it doesn't mean that you should lose weight or anything, but i know that the majority of people, you can see at least a tiny hint of their shoulderblades.

Oh.................okay

I've noticed that the visibility of ur collarbone doesn't really depent on ur weight or if ur fat or not though............ coz like I see some ppl have theirs really visible whilst some skinnier ppl dun have it showing. Thats what kinda confused me. I wasn't really sure.

My collarbones show so I was just wondering are the 2 triangle-like shaped bones are meant to show.

^ Again, I think it really just depends from person to person. Maybe you have some more fat on your back, but it doesn't make you overweight. I wouldn't worry so much about it...I don't think the visibility of your shoulderblades constitutes whether or not you're overweight.

Yup. Unless you're gaining excessive pounds in an alarming fashion or your clothes don't fit, you're probably fine.

I think it depends, fat shouldn't have too much to do with how much they show....My friend's stick out like wings when he bends over and pushes his elbows back...so It's different for everyone I think.

How would you lose fat on the shoulders though? Just normal exercise? Will that do?
