QUOTE(mipadi @ Sep 22 2005, 9:58 PM) I'm certainly impressed by the technical specifications of the Xbox 360 (especially from an engineering standpoint), but it does make me wonder: does a gaming system really need all that power? I think so. With that much power, we won't need as much disc space to store prerendered FMVs, which are causing game sizes to skyrocket (FF7, I blame you). The console can use the games engine to create a scene that looks just as good as a prerendered FMV. What worries me is that Sony and Microsoft are planning on using new drives that can hold more information. While this may not be a bad thing, I am worried that this will allow the developers to stay lazy and use FMVs. Plus, the AI should be better. |

And it's not just Final Fantasys fault. There are other games that used the multi disk function. Remember Metal Gear Solid? Hey, even Rival Schools used it, not continuaslly. (spelling is wrong) But they still used it. Also the Blu-Rays are gonna cost wayy much more. Same thing with the hd-dvd but not as much. |

I think i'm going to like the 360 if I get it because right now the starting price is like a stab to the face.... Anyways... It looks like it's gonna have some good games.

i played the xbox 360 at best buy. i got to play a demo of call of duty 2.
let me just say. sickest thing ive ever played. i played that same level about 4 times before i had to go without getting bored or anything. its freakin intense, god i love that game, this might make me change my mind about waiting for the ps3. you should have saw it, they had so much security over the 360 haha. glass cases, bolts, metal, alarm, you wouldve thought it was like the crown of king Tut or something lol. |

i want games that aren't just preordained action.
like.. if you want an action game, then make a game around battle royale. make it like battle royale. exactly, but with different characters. don't concentrate on good graphics. current gen graphics are fine. devote most the processing power to having 40 some odd computer controled characters that will hide if you come at them with a gun and they have a fork, instead of standing there stupidly trying to hit you with the fork. and how about a naval game, where you're in charge of a ship? i don't think there's one of those. and they you could have an 18th century version. and a pirate version. and a submarine version. `sigh. all this processing power, and all it goes towards is some prettier lakes and rocks. very open to sequels, just have different personalities, different characters, different weapons, and a different island. and such. and then like for racing games, where's the crashes? i played one with these great graphics, but the car was invincible. it wouldn't crunch. i hit other cars, they spun out, but remained intact. would be fun to see a pit crew run around the car, and occasionally mess up. and halo. i tried to play halo. (well halo two). all i saw were aliens that you randomly shot at. wasn't really fun, if you ask me. characters in the game kept directing me where to go. still rather confusing. i must say the alien guts looked quite good tho. how about a heist game with no guns? i'm sure there's probably a heist game, but i'll bet that you still carry a gun and you still battle the guards. that'd be an interesting one- put in a racing part of it too. |

They do improve on everything not just good graphics^ i mean if you actually play the games like i did, you'll see a big difference in gameplay. check out gametrailers.com or something if you wanna see the ps3 and 360 games actually played.
they made the AI incredibly smart in all the demos i played even Kameo. like in Call of Duty the people just dont wait around for you to shoot them. they try to flank your squad and crap, and actually out smart you. i mean they did that in previous console games so you should know most good games now the AI dont act stupid anymore. infact the graphics on the xbox 360 werent as good as i anticipated, i mean dont get me wrong they were great, but they were kinda like graphics on a very high end computer game. so they definately focused on gameplay. and when i also played ghost recon 3, and alot of other demos like Kameo and such. the games are just..... i cant explain it, the entertainment value went up in ways that previous consoles just cant do. which makes them more fun and addictive and a totally different experience. your depiction on what the games are offereing is very incorrect my good sir. QUOTE and then like for racing games, where's the crashes? i played one with these great graphics, but the car was invincible. it wouldn't crunch. i hit other cars, they spun out, but remained intact. would be fun to see a pit crew run around the car, and occasionally mess up. you dont no much about games do you? lol ever heard of "Burnout"? you say you want a pit crew, look at this gran turismo

hmmm... can you run over the pit crew? they improve upon existing gameplay no doubt, but not on fundamentals, like the point of the game and all... |

In fairness, IIRC, some developers have said they will use the additional power to create better AI. Also, try Forza Motorsport for the XBOX if you want to play a racing game with crashes. I play NavyField, an MMORPG, which is controlling a ship. |

how about one where you're a high school student and then suddenly one day when you're in school your high school flys away and it turns out half your classmates were aliens?

Someone I know said he is selling the Pro Bundle at work at Radio Shack but he doubted anyone would spring for it. Guess I can tell him he was wrong.
