how can i do this?

my myspace is: http://www.myspace.com/whitney_brooke08
and the code i'm using is:
<style type="text/css">

body {
background-color:FFFFFF;
background-image:url(http://images.cbimg5.com/myspace/24/5792.jpg);
background-attachment: fixed;
background-position:top left;
background-repeat:no-repeat;
border-top:20px;
border-bottom:20px;
border-color:21cfb9;
border-style:solid;
scrollbar-face-color:22EECC;
scrollbar-highlight-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-3dlight-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-shadow-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-arrow-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-track-color:ffffff;

</style>

<style type="text/css">
.r{}
table table { border: 10x }
table table table table{border:10px}
table table table {
border-style:solid;
border-width:5px;
border-color:21cfb9;
background-color:FFFFFF;
align:justify;
}

.r{}
table, tr, td, li, p, div { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }
.btext { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }

also, I've tried using the skinny centered CSS format by putting all my colors and fonts into that format but it hasn't worked. what is wrong with my code?

well...if you want your background to show, how about setting your background-color to transparent? I mean, the background of the image is white..so if you made it transparent, then your background would show...

it's not so much that it's covering a part of my background as it looks messy and unsymmetrical. i really want the tables to be centered but all of my attempts have failed.

Hm, well..I looked through the 'centered skinny layout' CSS, and got the bits that actually made the tables small and sort of centered. I merged them with your codes, and cleaned it up a bit, too.
I hope it works :-\.

CODE
<style type="text/css">

table, tr, td { background-color:transparent; border:none; border-width:0;}
body {
background-color:FFFFFF;
background-image:url(http://images.cbimg5.com/myspace/24/5792.jpg);
background-attachment: fixed;
background-position:top left;
background-repeat:no-repeat;
border-top:20px;
border-bottom:20px;
border-color:21cfb9;
border-style:solid;
scrollbar-face-color:22EECC;
scrollbar-highlight-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-3dlight-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-shadow-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-arrow-color:ffffff;
scrollbar-track-color:ffffff;

table table { border: 10x }
table table table table{border:10px}
table table table {
height: .01%;
width: 100%;
padding: 1px;
border-style:solid;
border-width:5px;
border-color:21cfb9;
background-color:FFFFFF;
align:justify;
}

TD TD TD TD {width: 1%; text-align:justify;}

table, tr, td, li, p, div { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }
.btext { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }
.blacktext10 { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }
.blacktext12 { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }
.lightbluetext8 { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }
.orangetext15 { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }
.redtext { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }

.redbtext { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }
.text { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }
.whitetext12 { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }
a:active, a:visited, a:link { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }
a:hover { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }
a.navbar:active, a.navbar:visited, a.navbar:link { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }
a.navbar:hover { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }
a.redlink:active, a.redlink:visited, a.redlink:link { font-family:helvetica; color:00CC00; }
a.redlink:hover { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; }
.nametext { font-family:helvetica; color:FF0099; font-size:16px; font-weight:bold; }

</style>

thanks for doing all that work, but all it did was erase my borders, change my links to white, and push both table further to the left. i dont know what it is about this code, it just doesnt seem to want to center...
but thanks anyways, lol. i appreciate it.
