I never wear make-up (except for black eye liner). My brother said that he when he saw a girl wearing make-up he thought he saw a polter-giest. I never wore make-up from then on. If I try to think like a guy, make-up just makes girls look ugly...in my opinion.

I dont like the over the top lipgloss...or the "peaches and creame (candlewax) flavored lipgloss...and Im not to much of a concealer (sp) guy either (thats the thing you put on your face right?), but I like lipstick (so long as its relatively close to what your natural lip color...unless you are blonde, inwhich case red looks nice)....and eye liner...or whatever the thing is....but not too much make up

I'm ok with girls wearing make up as long as they're ok with me wearing it. (I don't that often... and only eye make up when I do.) Usually nothing excessive, though.

I know I've posted this elsewhere, but that topic is probably going to get closed because it's practically this topic.

I despise the idea of makeup because I am looking for love, not just sex.

Okay, so you have a person. This person wishes to attract other people of the opposite sex to them. Instead of showing their true selves, they choose to wear a mask. This produces better results on a very basic level for attracting mates, because the mask is more interesting than just a normal face. This basic level of attraction isn't based in truth about the mask wearer. This basic attraction cuts out the whole getting to know you part outright, and immediately. Instead of the opposite sex choosing this mask wearer for it's personality, it chooses it for sexual appeal only, and will just fill in the gaps after they have made their choice on this.

Very basic psychology. If people were looking for love, rather than sex, they would choose to not wear a mask, as the mask only attracts those who want sex, and bases a relationship on a lie.

I think it depends on the girl. If it brings out her special features. Sure, why not live a little.

look at it this way:

a girl can choose what makeup to wear. therefore, any makeup she wears is a direct reflection of her personality. mayhaps her personality is to copy, or otherwise. but what makeup does besides attracting sexually, as clothing and other body adornments do, is reveal something about wearer.

sure, it's a mask. but it's a mask that says "who i am chose this mask. it wasn't given to me by my parents: this mask shows me."

That's a really interesting take on it. And I'm inclined to agree with you. Makeup, like clothing, really does say a lot about a person. Of course, the lack of makeup can really say a lot about a person, too (then again, so can a lack of clothing...).

But that's just the thing, they can make the mask say anything they want you to think about who they are, whether or not it actually reflects who they are under it. Not everyone has the intention to show who they actually are, though you make a valid point for the ones that do.

ahh, but if you find out thier mask is false, which could usually be done by talking to them, then that would say something about them too. _smile.gif

i'm sorry not all girls are naturally beautiful.
i think make-up enhances their beauty.
when its overdone, maybe not so much but i agree with what starlette said.

Solacked Acid, you have a way of making my points for me. YES. You find out everything about a person from talking to them, which completely rules out the need for a mask.

Physical beauty has no bearing on whether I care about a girl or not. It's all about who you are and what you do, not how you look. That's why I care about a lot of the girls on this forum, and not the ones that I've met in my everyday life around here. (Most of the girls in my town are pretty and rich, but have little substance to their personality and morals. Boo them)

I think that make up inhances a girls natural beauty. Now I'm not saying that they should go all out and dip their face in a makeup bucket. My ex girlfriend was beautiful with and without makeup. A lot of times I couldn't tell. But when she had makeup on it made me want her more...Anyway, I don't like seeing girls who go through everyday without makeup and think they look good. Some do need a little makeup, no offense, and they still never wear any- not one day.

well you should only put a little makeup on only if u really REALLY need it. I mean sure makeup is good if you know exactly how to apply it so that you look better.. but otherwise.. you should only put small amounts and show off your natural physical features... sometimes the makeup seems to cover up the pretty parts of a girls face and she may not realize that... I just put on small amounts of foundation and occasionally lipgloss and i'm good to go... =)

What's the difference between the second last and the last one?

I don't like girls who are gothic, but eyeliners always get me; too much is not okay
