(made by james...he is just unable to make new posts)

To Do List

ok, i really would have liked to make another thread, but i can tdo that at this point, so i though it would work here just as well.

- a 'retirement plan' (for lack of a better term) for mods...
christina has said that she has been reluctant to demote ex-mods from official members, so perhaps we should formalize that in some way

- hiring
now that we have sorted out the method of hiring, perhaps we should implement some sort of time scheme? like, when we should have hirings etc.

urhm...other things?

Awww James :[ ....you cant make new topics either....wow...

oh oh...on subject

I'm a tad confused on the retirement plan, care to elborate?

I guess hiring would be start once the number of mods we have falls below quota.

christina had stated in the official members thread that once a staff member quits or is demodded, she would like to keep them as official members instead of just regular members, but if their post per day falls below 4, they will not be an official member anymore.

is there a set quota and if so, what is it? or are we going to make one in here?

Well, we had a quota last time we modded. Of course, it can change because cB is always getting bigger. Modding would be necessary if there is a lack of active moderators or the job at hand is too much for the number of mods we have now.

I love the mod retirement plan. Cb's mods work so hard, I think they deserve extra benefits besides just official members because they contributed so much before they stepped down- also it takes a lot of guts to step down from a mod position because CB means so much to them and they mean so much to CB.

Well, nominations have started in Announcements and The Lounge, so I'm guessing Jusun has already taken charge of the modding process.

About the retirement plan: I think it's a great idea, but we should set a PPD limit of 4. Former mods who are official members must keep their PPD at 4. That shouldn't be hard for them, especially if they were former People Staff.

sorry, not signed in, but jusun made a thread in here asking us to actually finalize the modding process and about the ppd...that is what christina has proposed in the official members thread, so if thats the case, im for it.

That might be hard for some mods who have taken breaks or stepped down because of school. I think a 3 PPD might be good because we should treat our retired mods good, they've treated CB good.

Well, 4 ppd isn't that hard. It's really not that hard to try to get your post count up, especially if you were staff. Staff and ex-staff should be capable of keeping their ppd up.

why should an ex-staff member be any more or less capable of maintaining a ppd than anyone else?

Retirement plans, should the ex mod gets 100% pm storage than 75%? Official membership doesn’t seem to be very beneficial; at least it’s better than being a regular member. IMO.

Also, put them on the "emergency formal staff members" so when cB is falling apart, they're on duty again!! ohmy.gif

eh, not exactly my opinion of a retirement plan. there really isnt any time that the X number of mods could handle. there are at least 2 mods on during the day.

also, do you mean 100 p/m storage and not 100%? 100% would mean they have unlimited p/ms still.

I'm really tired of everyone talking about things. Will there ever be a vote? It seems like there is less and less action here at CB.

I don't know if I should divulge one really AWESOME retirement plan aspect, but Jusun and I already decided what we'd give ex-moderators. Basically, they get what moderators get, excluding the whole backstage, modding, deleting, PM storage, etc. thing.

To any ex-moderators who don't know, just PM me and I'll tell you. I think you all should already know though. :]

I'm not allowed to say this because I don't know if Jusun would like you guys to know but it's a pretty nifty plan. :]

? .. No we don't. Do we? whistling.gif Wait, what PM storage do you guys have? I sure don't know anything about it, lol.

As for the retirement plan, Spiritual Winged Aura, what do you mean "behind your situation"? huh.gif What?

The nifty thing is still a secret, but as of now, moderators should all know about it, thus ex-mods shall receive this certain benefit. There are past mods that still receive this benefit, despite the fact that they aren't active on cB at all.
