My apologies. I didn't think it would be a big deal being an introductions thread and all. I'll tone it down a bit.

I've got some questions for you, though. Why is it acceptable to have entire threads devoted to actually spamming pointless information (such as the "last one to post here wins." postwhoring thread), and when something clearly less pointless happens in my thread, it's somehow an issue? I really got to know alot about the people on this forum on the last 2 pages of this thread. And according to what has been posted here about spam, I really never did anything wrong, or at least explicitly so. Should I write you an essay on it? Would that prove to you the value of my interactions in this thread? I can wax on all day about the psychological implications of everything that was said and it's personal effect on my life, if you really want me to.

You remind me of a probation officer, just waiting for me to slip up. Not that I've personally had one of those before. It's kind of sexy. <3

^lol you intrigue me, really you do. Make me laugh too. :)

As for that thread in the "Forum Games", those don't count on your post count, so you can post 1000 times in there, and it wouldn't make a differnce on your 160 posts. you know?
When it happens in the introduction section or another section or something then it counts as part of your posts. And plus i mean it's not good to spam and everything. The game section isn't exactly spam either, "Cool" "no way" "stupidhead" lol, it has rules and everything. You know what i mean.
lol save the essay for something more important, i wouldn't mind reading an essay of yours. nice flow of wit. Suzzette is just doing her job, she's gotta tell you to not spam if it starts to get outta hand. But thanks for cooperating :)

I didn't really think it was that spammy considering it IS and introduction thread..but perhaps the small conversations going on should be brought to PM.

And..

Thank you for clarifying, Katie. I understand that post count is a big deal because it shows who's been around doing the most, contributing to the boards positively and the like. I'll try to make sure that if I get into an immature battle with someone that I stay on subject and make my posts as long as possible if they are outside of one of the specified spam-friendly areas. I don't hold the fact that Suzzette is controlling the flow of spam on the boards, as I know how hard that can be from my personal experience as a moderator on ddrnwi.com. I've mentioned how rowdy those kids were. It wasn't pretty. Spam wasn't really the deal as much as flames for those kids, albeit just as annoying.
I'm still up for an essay though. XD

Spammy rhymes with Sammi, which isn't clever at all, since I'm sure everyone and their mom has tried to make that into some sort of joke, but I needed an introductory sentence to this paragraph that addressed you. People don't respond to PMs on this board for the most part for some reason, so I've just kind of chosen to do any sort of communicating on the boards themselves. As far as being hilarious, I'm just being honest here. Most of my posts are just objective view on whatever's going on in the thread, with a little bit of personal background so that I can be speaking from a less removed standpoint in the flow of conversation.

And for great justice: The idea of an attractive girl (regardless of her intentions) watching my every move is somewhat appealing to me, as it's never really happened to me before, to my knowledge. Damn sexy IMHO, so I just felt that should be made clear.

Considering I have to compose myself from this point on with any contention I create having to be heavily structured and show a certain level of eloquence, I would say that your contention that this is now very much like debate is justified. Knowing such, and judging from past experiences, it would be advisable to begin making much longer posts, as they show that you have the ability to be an elitist. Elitism, being the goal that this board wishes to establish, second only to the original goal of creating a community to share their ideas about blog layouts, is something to be strived for in every post. By making longer posts, you are making a statement that you can compete in a psychological battlefield with the other members who wish to participate in this contest of who can be the most elite on the board.

not necessarily the longer the post making you elite, but more of the quality of what you say in the post. There are people on here that say a whole lot of nothing, you know. lol interesting, a psychological battlefield huh? lol you should def start posting in debate if you haven't already, there are tons of people in there that would just love to have you :)
And yes i think your posts have a certain level of eloquence, with a nice sense of wit to it too :)

The "last one to post here" game isn't devoted to pointless spamming. It's a game...it has rules...The catch is that there is no topic, and the object of the game is to be the first poster on page 21.

By the way, I wasn't only talking to you.
You made this thread on November 9th..which means this thread has been open for 8, almost 9 days. The purpose of an introduction is to introduce yourself to the community...It's nice that you've made new friends, but these conversations would be better said through PM's.
*

Thank you for clarifying that again. I realized that it was a general statement for everyone who is in this thread. Did you see that advice I gave to the one guy with the short posts? TOTALLY SWEET.
As far as the amount of time this thread can be open, I don't see any rules that state that there is any sort of time limit on how long you can introduce yourself for, or even when you can introduce yourself, as people come back after they've been on the boards for quite some time and do an intro. That seems to me like you have a personal issue with something relating to this thread, that you feel you need to enforce as if it is a rule, because you have the power to do so. If people keep meeting me through it, it's still an introductory thread. Also notice that nearly all of my posts here are responses to other people's posts, meaning that I don't ignore anyone who comes here on their own accord. Follow-ups are a courtesy, on most boards.

Spiritual Winged Aura, who's unbelieveable, and why? I don't really understand. Please clarify.

Katie, you're right about how things would ideally be if everyone were smart enough to pull off a post that had long, structured arguements; however that is not the case. I was making a suggestion to make longer sentences to avoid a first glance looking like spam, or actually ending up being spam because it was so shortwinded, and that's a big deal, apparently. If there was something in the debate forums that had a personal effect on me, I would already be there nonstop. However, the broader issues would require my time in research, and I shy away from that only because of my time restraints. Thank you for your compliment on my supposed eloquence.

Emazing, Who told you I was ubercool? They lied to you! Are you just going to sit back and take that? Oh, wait, there's a slim chance that you could have taken what I've said here and formend the opinion that I'm somehow cool from it. As far as moving this to the debate thread, there really wouldn't be much of a point to that unless I stated an overall contention that encompassed the entire arguement I seem to be having with brownsugar08. That doesn't work, because we are butting heads on various fronts that would be very hard to word if even given an entire paragraph to do so.

My antivirus is running right now, so this post took way too long to write.

You are ubercool. And you should post in Debate. That's why I told you to come here in the first place.

BTW, I don't think Introductions should count for post counts anyway...I think the "HEY WELCOME TO CB!" posts are much more spam than any of these are, considering the point of an introduction is to get to know the person, no?

I'll bring it up, humdeedum...

Sammi, I was asleep when you messaged me, but I wouldn't have come to pick you up if I was awake. Too much to do today, and I'm rationing my time already.

Mzkandi, I know where she's coming from, because practically everyone posts the exact same thing every time someone new comes to the boards. Eventually even I will lose some originality in my greetings. You are correct according to the community guidelines, but she is also correct according to the substance of most of the posts.

I didn't say it was. I was making a point that at least a majority of the posts in this thread have some substance; they have relevance, while most posts in Introductions could be borderline spam, seeing as some people go so far as to copy and past the same thing in each thread, not taking the time to actually read and simply saying "Hi", since Suzette said that this thread was spamming.

But either way, I still don't think Introductions posts should count.
