I searched for similiar topics, and i came up with an opera thread. I think its a different topic and such but if mods feel differently, do your thing :D

Is anyone in choir ? I am a choirhead myself. My life, if no one has noticed revolves around music. And without it i am pretty much dead and boring. Are there any good choir arrangements/songs/composers you particularly like ? Eric Whitacre is very popular. We are doing a lot of his pieces for our Winter Concerts. Are there also any songs you really like youre choir has done ?

My highschool choir, Mt Eden is one of the best in state. [ And thats true :D ] We are going to Hawaii for regionals this Spring and i cannot wait. Choir benefits me a lot. Without music i would have been expelled way back, Real talk. Most people think people in choir are geeks or nerds or queers [ Showqueer , My friends would call it. It was Showchoir, singing and dancing. Is anyone in showchoir ? ] But the choir kids can get down if yunnawhaimsayin.

Sorry its so long. I love music <3

I like Lux Aurorum, Sleep, The Awakening, When David Heard , Most of the various Glorias out there Lol, Cloudburst , Kyrie, And much more that i just cant remember right now ...

I was forced into my church choir against my will and I did not enjoy it. Seeing as how I cant sing.

Our school has a huge choir program, I might join next year since I did it a few years back.

We have Concert Choir, Acapella Choir, Mens Ensemble, Womens Ensemble, and some stuff I'm not sure about.

The Mens Ensemble sang some song called Manly Man - It's pretty funny

I went to All State twice; once in Florida and once in Texas. Choir geek and proud.

My favorite has to be Schubert's Mass in G or Hayden's Missa Brevis in the key of F.

but when spring rolled around, we did broadway musicals. Speaking of which, I'm going to see RENT

Off topic: OMG BELLA YOU GO TO MT. EDEN?!? We swim against you guys every year... and beat you. tongue.gif

I'm only in my church choir. So we use the same choir arrangements from the same hymn book every year. I wish we did something different... But hey. As long as I'm praising God, it's all good I think.

I think we have show choir at our school, but it's called... Chamber Chorale? If I don't get into the musical this year, I'm trying out for that.

For some reason I thought you went to Hayward High. My sister went to Mt. Eden.

But anyways back to the topic. Im not in choir class (because I'm more of a dancer), but I am in my school's Gospel Choir. Just had it today. We are in the process of learning 4 songs right now for our winter concert Dec. 15. I like the songs "Total Praise" and "Jesus Is the Reason For the Season".
