Add brushes, textures.... Gradient overlay? Definately text, text is wonderful. -nod, nod-
And contrast! Can't forget contrast.

You can also, put an gradient overlay in the layer styles area.

select layer > layer style > Gradient overlay

The way I use the gradient is different. I set a vector mask first and then apply the gradient.

It's so plain. mellow.gif
See, this is what I came up with, and it only took around five minutes! You just need an imagination, some textures, and brushes! (Though I didn't use any.)

But it's NOT THAT HARD. Take a texture, paste it onto a new layer, and change the blending options (or whatever the box that says overlay, hard light, ect. is). Spray brushes over a new layer, do whatever! Your problem is basically that you don't believe in yourself.
Go read some tutorials, try out a few techniques. Enter blend contests... Use a lot of lyrics. Add borders, cut funky shapes. Anything you want, just DO IT!

Better. =)
Now, add text, a border or something and maybe blur the circles a tad and it'll be fantastic! Oh, and pixel fonts should be @ small sizes. Just... Because huge pixel fonts are cheap and sloppy looking.
