Asian Youths Suffer Harassment in Schools

this kind of thing happens everywhere.

at my school, however, most of the racism is pin-pointed at the hispanic people. it's really unfair, but nothing the school or anyone can do can stop it.

only time can--when maybe, in future generations, people develop broader minds.

you guys think it's bad now--

imagine what it was like back in.. in like the 50's and 60's--when there was still segregation and apartheid.

What can we say? People are idiots.

But you know what really pissed me off? The fact that the school did absolutely nothing about it.

I've heard about that one in SF because I live there but it's just sad how people are being bullied because of their race and color. I know from experience because I was picked on for being Asian before my mom transfered me to Cornerstone Academy which is 99%Asian. Weird thing is, after I left St.Elizabeth, everyone started calling me and apologizing! how they got my number is beyond me...

For all of you that are saying your school is composed of mostly Asians, did you ever think that maybe the same thing happens to the minority races in your school, no matter what they are?
*

And yes I thought about it but no one is bullied in our school because of their race...there's this one African American guy in my grade and he's one of the popular kids. And there are 4 or 5 Caucasian people in our school but they're never picked on.

the school im in now is very diverse, and ive been to alot of schools in my time and that doesnt happen too often at all the schools that ive been to. so making it seem like its a epidemic of black people bullying people is a little ermm.gif
and it happens to all races, so im not shocked. i had non black folk calling my friend nigger last week =/ and some non iraqi folk calling one of my friends, "Saddam"

QUOTE
the people teasing me are mostly African Americans. I guess most of them just really hate Asians because they're excelling, academically.

sometimes alot of people on this site are sooooo......insulting.

EDIT//I'm sorry.  I forgot to put mostly.  Anyway, what I meant was, look: Click here.  No offense though, and I'm sorry if I'm being racist.

then he gets a chart lol, as if that proves that they're jealous of you rolleyes.gif

The world makes me sad. People suck. My best friend is Korean, I'm going to show her this....XD

Nope, I've thought about that, but I don't think it happens at my school. People don't really discriminate at my school.

people of the same race stick together, its only a matter of time before those asian guys get strapped and try to get that respect.

also...is it just me...or do the "white" people never seem to get punked?

I haven't really thought about it either... We don't really discriminate... but if we do it's probably against white people

That is so horrible. I live in California, San Jose and I'm an asian guy (vietnamese). I was been called names and bullied when I was in 3rd grade-8th grade. Good thing I wasn't really been beaten up. But highschool is different, I haven't heard or seen any asians getting beaten up at my school. But all this name calling, bullying is really everywhere in this world. At least, I'm not in those kind of scary places like Brooklyn or maybe L.A?

Well, that is not in any way acceptable, but racism can come from more than just white people, and it isn't documented well at all. Any kind of racism in un-acceptable, but it's also un-acceptable to only document against white people, and we can argue with it all we want, but it IS true that racism is more documented if it comes from white people, rather than non-white people

I'm from upstate new york, Redneck Mecca. People have a lot of problems accepting diversity here, but those problems exist everywhere.

That's incredibly harsh; it makes me thankful/glad that we don't have that type of discriminatory abuse in our city (the Asian population practically dominates Milpitas at the moment).
