oh gosh, ok i forgot the name....it's that one where the boy comes from a poor family, and all he wants is a nice pair of shoes for himself and his little sister. So he enters one of those track contests, and he runs against other boys, and he gets first place, but he wanted to get 3rd place because you get new shoes if you win third. if you win first you get a bike or something? and i think in the end the father bought the boy and his sister shoes because they were so good...
something along those lines? I don't remember but i watched it a few years back and really liked it. |

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is pretty good.
Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle are hilarious. We watched Life is Beautiful at school, and it was alright. I also watched a couple of Korean comedies and dramas(?) while I was at my friend's house. |

Well actually since I'm in France I could say that all the American movies are foreign movies... so I love lots. Here we have more foreign movies than French movies so I'm used to watch many of them.

QUOTE(sadolakced acid @ Nov 12 2005, 12:20 AM) I love Life is Beautiful! CHICK ABOVE ME: YOU LIVE IN FRANCE?! I'm going to France this summer! :D Anywho. - Goodbye Lenin is probably the top...OK no. One of the tops. :P It's really, really, really good. One of my top favorite movies. Other people might not think it's too good, but I don't really care. I think it's great. - Lola Rennt is, of course, a great pick as well. It takes more than one time watching to understand it, but I like that about it. We watched it three times in French class to get it. The first time you watch it...woooah. It's really..out there. But I love it. - Life is Beautiful .. Freaking Holocaust movie! :P I always tend to enjoy Holocaust movies. This movie portrays the horrors of it very well. The ending is like..awesome. Yea. - Le Huitieme Jour (The Eighth Day) is a movie about a Mongolian man who runs away from his "alternative housing" and runs into a man who picks him up on the side of the road. They drive off and have lots of adventures and blahdeeblah. It's a little similar to Rainman. It's really nice, and wow..the ending is..so..sad... - Le Hussard sur le Toit (The Horseman on the Roof) is really great. It features Juliet Binoche (one of my favorite actresses) and Olivier Martinez (not one of my favorite actors necessarily...he's just really hot. - Jean de Florette/Manon des Sources are both good. Manon des Sources is the sequel to Jean de Florette, which is something not usually seen in French movies, but it's actually a good sequel, unlike usual American sequels. So, um, see both, cause they're both good. Andddd I don't wanna write paragraphs for the others. So. - Cyrano de Bergerac - This Arabic movie about shoes...I forget what it was called...I'll ask my teacher tomorrow. - Mostly Martha There might be more too... |

La Vie En Rose
et Jeux D'enfants. Especially the second one. Both have the same feel as Amélie. Shaolin Soccer is pretty good, but in a TOTALLY different genre. XD |

A Tale of Two Sisters, The City of Lost Children, and Amélie (although I should really get on with seeing that, Anna). I don't watch enough foreign films. I have yet to see a good Chinese movie.

Number one for me is "La Vita e Belle" or "Life Is Beautiful". I like other ones but that one is and will always be my favorite.

As far as I can think of, I've only seen one. I bought it because I thought it was supposed to be a great movie - scarier than the first: Ringu 2. Well it was the worst movie I've ever seen. No question. |
