Probably so. Being surrounded by mainly band members and overachievers, I think my environment is developing a lot slower than it would in other circumstances.

In this area, hooking up is referring to just french kissing. But we really don't say that anymore...

I think hookin up is when you do anything sexual with a guy or girl which is not your gf/bf or even leading to it.

I thought hooking up meant going out, being boyfriend and girlfriend. But I looked it up in the urban dictionary and...it made no sense. It gave me the same reason you gave us.

i always was told that hooking up was just longer than making-out. like, french kissing for a long period of time. and sure, there's some groping involved.

Well in my town "hooking up" with someone is like being their "flirt" partner thingy at a party or w/e....like if you say I "hooked up" with so & so this weekend...then you may have made out, had sex, or even just hung out....
