This movie was 100000x better than the book. GAWD THAT BOOK SUCKED. All this blah blah blah about sitting around and talking.
Boooooring and not romantic at all.

i really liked the movie, but the scenes when allie and noah were old (most of them anyway) were extremelyyyyy boring to watch. at least after the first time seeing the movie. other then that... it was really really good. so i'd rate it an 8.5

I have to be honest... I HATE CHICK FLICKS! I hate it when they try to make you say "aawww" or make you cry... I've seen chick flicks that have attempted to get into my brick wall...

But the Notebook was the first chick flick to ever have me bring down a tear or make me go "awwwwwwww" .... One of the best I've seen.

This is a movie that I want to hate, but don't. Having said that, it isn't my favorite either. There was some genuine poignant moments accentuated with some pretty fine acting. The story loses steam towards the end however and parts of the film were tainted with overdone melodrama.

The movie was NOT as good as the book imo. I didn't enjoy the scenes with James and Gena though, and I think that's what makes the movie only ok. Ryan and Rachel definitely saved the flick.
