haha agreed. i say 'mk' sometimes just to vary from 'ok' hahaha and i only use the thanksbye thing when really annoyed i guess. mind you, when that is overused, thats what really does get annoying. =p kthx. lol just kidding.

I usually only say/type that to my friends to piss them off. It's just fun to say it to people that piss you off, too, especially people you don't even know.
I don't see such a huge problem with it, saying it's rude and whatever, but there are way worse, much ruder things you can verbalize other than "kthxbye". |

I used "kthnxbye" when I'm kidding around but I actually do say "mkay" in real life.. Not to be annoying or whatever. It first started out because Mr. Garrison on South Park says mmkaayyy or whatever so me and my friends would joke around but now I honestly say "mkay" as "okay".

well...the english language is really turning to some form of code as the years pass by. sooner or later, people are just going to write "ktb" instead of "kthnxbi" it is annoying but what can ya do about it? start a correction clan?
[edit] oh yeah, people also extend the words for more expression.. ex: instead of saying "ok" (sounds plain right?) say "oooooooookayy!!" or "o00o0o0oo0o0o0ok" ya know...stuff like that...but i don't do that :P |

 I hate some of the slang, just type it out, is it that hard. I know most people want to make a point with it but there must be a better way.....and like some one said that lol drives me nuts, I have a girlfriend that uses it after every sentence. I want to tell her so bad to shut up.
