what would you bring to someone who's in the hospital...?

i don't want to get too personal but this person is a close male friend, he's in his late teens and he doesn't have a terminal illness or anything, but he's in there because of something really serious.

i've never been put in this situation anymore...i just need some suggestions as to what to bring him when i see him tomorrow, he can walk around and stuff so it's not like he's confined to the bed.

Roses, a card, a stuff animal. Something that shows you are thinking about him and that you hope he gets well.

Whenever I'm in the hospital (I've been in there a lot lately), it's always nice to get flowers. But it gets pretty boring in there and the food is crap. So I'm sure he would really appreciate something to keep him occupied.....like a game, magazines, or something along those lines. Food is always a winner, too wink.gif

Books, magazines. Hospital TV isn't ALL that. Something really entertaining, maybe a game you can both play. Everyone else will be getting cards, bears, and balloons.

Wordsearch books. Hospitals can get boring... I would know. Otherise than that.. food might be nice.. but make sure he's not on a liquid diet and he can actually have "real" food. When I was in the hospital for a week and a half all I could have was this special liquid diet and absolutely nothing else, so make sure it's ok for him to have food. But, flowers and cards are always nice. =)

write a card, give him a beanie baby happy.gif and you can just... spend time with him in the hospital. balloons are usually good. don't bring anything edible (except maybe ice cream...) because he's probably on a strict diet because of w.e. is the problem.
