I live in a itty bity town, so there isn't much violence (Arkansas)... Now you hear of things that has happen in Little Rock, etc. but there is not too much where i live.

I think that in every *city* there will be the good parts of town and the bad parts of town. it's not just "violence happens in the south" !!!

I had the opportunity to live in both the north and the south...i was born on the west coast and went back to visit, but spent the majority of my life in Pennsylvania. We had the normal violence there, but it was mostly small-time rebellious stuff, nothing personal. When i moved down to Texas i got threats from day one because i was a "yankee", not just to get my ass kicked but i also got a few death threats, and i even got jumped...me and my little brother were victims of the violence, and i think it was based mostly on prejudice from where i was from. But i agree, ive definitely seen more violence in Texas than Pennsylvania. It stems from the fact that people just wont let things go. I dont want to start anything on a race term, but ive had quite a few black people threaten me because i was "a slave owner" and they keep bitchin about slavery....i didnt own slaves, my parents, grandparents, great grandparents and even great-great-grandparents didnt own slaves, and they werent slaves themselves, neither were the past four generations of their family but they dont let it go. The Muslims and Jews are still fighting because of stuff that happened thousands of years ago-nobody lets anything go. Its just a part of life and you'll have to deal with it...just dont feed into the stereotype and physically fight back....
