2- APUSH and AP/IB language

They're the only ones available without using up an elective, which I can't do because I have band and Spanish (no AP Spanish until 4).

(you can't take AP sciences until after you've passed the class ordinarily, and there's only AP stats and calc, no precal. I'd take AP physics, but I can't till next year, when I won't care)

Wow, that's a lot. As a sophomore, the only AP option we had was AP Euro, but I wasn't really interested. Now I wish I had taken it.

The only one we had as sophomores was AP world, and I couldn't take that since I had band that period, and only one class was offered. It sucked, because I thought that was the one advantage to not having taken pre IB...

We don't have that many options either, since they're tying to get more of us to focus on IB. We have plenty of options, they just have a really stupid system where you can't take them until senior year, because those of us who want to take them sophomore and junior years don't have time in our schedule because nearly all the gifted kids are in band or orchestra.

I'm a freshman, taking the only available AP course, AP World History.

I'm completely new to this so can someone explain to me how I can take a class of my choice later on in highschool? For example, how would I be able to get into a computer science class?

Well at my school, we have online programming, in which we can register for classes we would want to take.

AP as in Honors?  Well, over here we don't call it "AP", we call it Honors.

Like, Honors English, Honors History, etc.

I take three Honors/AP? Classes which is, History, English, and Math (Algebra), but I wasn't accepted into Science  sad.gif

Eh.  pinch.gif I'm in seventh grade though. _dry.gif

AP means Advanced Placement. It's more than honors... and I don't think you can take AP classes in the 7th grade.

You guys are lucky, my school doesn't do AP. We also don't have honors, which is why they are making me go to college next year. They can't offer me anything else as a junior other than like.. Environmental bio, which is the science where you go and look at "little froggies" according to the straight A students of that class. laugh.gif

I find it ironic that people have some many AP classes in cB yet I have seen some really stupid posts.heh.

As for Lauren: the AP chem was killer for me, I barely got a 3 on the AP test lol.
